We are washing our brains here. Let not take this seriously. You know people make mistake. We need to discuss, thats how you can be as a creative person. Without making mistake no can move forward. Do not think that I made a mistake to copy the news from other source. (whoever complain) needs to understand that, The internet is allowed to view by any people out there. I understand the legal implication of the whole issue. I think rsubedi should have mentioned the source of his news. But its up to him to do what he wants on in his website. If he wants he can copy the whole George Bush's speech and claim his own. I would have problem with his news if he puts something false. Till he puts real news, which he gathers from whereever he can, I will read it. I think his news/website is beneficial to fellow nepali.He has a disclaimer in the end of each news pieces, which states "News Collection By Ramhari Subedi" or something like that. So how is this a case of plagiarism? It states "collection by" and not "written by".

Can you guys just shut the fk up and accept that you have to denote your sources if you get news from somewhere!!! Stop making a mountain out of an anthill. Peace out!

You got the point. Thats why I put "News Collection By Ramhari Subedi" means I only collect those news from other sources. People need to understand that, this means Ramhari Subedi has been collecting news from other sources not writing it. I did not say "News written By Ramhari Subedi. Yes of course it benifits viewers/readers, I agree with you "whoareyou". Some times important news are out there but people do not know, they do not know how to find. I try to collect those news and post it via Radio Dovaan so people know the important news

I think you are doing a great job by putting news in the website. There are many of us who don't have time/resource to search the web for news. I think you are doing all the work for us. I really appreciate it. Please don't get discouraged by all the comments people make.

Understand that. People should know what is going on out there. We are not making mistake putting news from other resources. We are trying to make it easier for people who want to know the latest news. You do not need to look arround everywhere and find. You do not need to waste your time and efforts. Just logon to our web site and find the latest news. This is a very simple method. Keep one other thing on your mind that most of the news almost 90% are copy and paste...

I don't think that most of news and to the extent like 90% can be copy and paste. It's not possible even for Nepali newspapers. In foreign countries, there's no way we can do copy and paste.

And instead of taking a constructive criticism in a professional manner like others have suggested here, you are only justifying your mistakes. It is quite clear that you have a long way to go in the field you have chosen to volunteer, and if you do go on with the same kind of negative attitude, you won?t end up anywhere, or may in trouble.

Here are my couple cents:

1. Unless you have obtained approval from respective sources, it is illegal (even though your visitors might like it) to re-print copyrighted information. Please note that you and your organization could be in trouble if sued, and your defense that it is helpful to your audience, and that everyone does it, too lacks substance.

2. It is an even greater offense, both legal and moral, to publish information as your own work ("News Collection By Ramhari Subedi"), while in fact, you simply copied and pasted someone else's work in its entirety.

You may have done it to help your visitors, but I think it is equally important for you to be aware of other implications.

It bothers me that instead of admitting and correcting the error, you seem to be thankful to this thread for attracting more visitors to your organization's website and seem to want to argue and extend this discussion for more similar advantage. Well, I did visit your website, and until I read this thread fully, I was under the impression that all the news articles that were published on your organization's website were indeed written by you.

Thank you for your service, but please correct the error and at least cite the sources on those news articles if they aren't really your work. In fact, I would rather see you post just a link to the complete article on the source's own website, unless you have obtained appropriate clearance to reproduce.

Thanks for all of this coments. Some people are out there, they can not do but they only like to complain when other people are doing it.

R. Subedi, my little suggestion to you: If you copy news from some sites, thats good you have written "collected by". But this is not enough, you have to mention where did you collect, it is necessary to disclose the source. I think most of the people who mentioned that you have to state source, they are not against your work but they are supporting your work what just they are doing is the improvement required in your site. Instead of being agressive, if you cool down and think a little room for your improvement, you will realize this suggestion is really valueable. Copying and pasting second person's material is not only outside of ethics, it is also illegal. So it is necessary to disclose the source if the news is not your own.
Subedi jee, I hope you will use the little room of improvement.
