just felt like doodling, don't curse me! :P

okay, it's been ages since i have stopped following/playing cricket. there was a time when i led the cricket team of my school, and brought it to a winning streak :P. i used to be a fast bowler (opening), a middle order batsman and a not so shrewd captain. :P

cricket is a psychological game. it's more of a mental battle than physical, i believe. being a fast bowler, i always had the luxury to act stylish and ominous....shine the ball, arrange an attacking field, take long run-ups, pretend scary look, wear scarf on the forehead...hehe....i have tried everything possible to scare the hell out of a batsman :P....now dont ask me how many wide balls i deliver in an over hahahahahahaha :P...

pakistan used to be my fav team, still is. as an amateur, i have always admired heroes like wasim akram-- my idol in cricket, so to speak. i have always believed that pakistan is a very talented team. the folks who play for pakistan are born talented unlike some of the players of other teams who work their ass off to polish their skills. players like javed miandad, imran khan, abdul qadir (i have an autograph of him :P), wasim, waqar, saqlain, afridi are some of the big names of this team in same or different times. most of these players were literally picked up from streets! they won the world cup in 1992 held in australia.

over the last decade or two, pakistan's major strength has been their deadly bowling department. but after wasim and waqar got retired few years back, they have been struggling to keep their pride of fast bowling as high as they used to have. shoaib, asif, shabbir, sami all are good bowlers but by no means comparable to the likes of two w's (wasim and waqar).

the other thing that is hindering pakistan to perform better than they actually deserve is their poor disclipine. they are a bunch of careless players, if one may say. match fixing allegations, politics, ball tampering...there are always issues with this team. with the recent banning of shoaib, for 2 years and asif, for 1 year, due to drug abuse, pakistan's prospect of lifting the world cup next year in west indies has been jeopardized, big time! i dont know where this team will stand....but i will still cheer up for them. once a fan, always fan. :p

Go Pakis! ~~~

Asian teams are jharpat. My favourite is westindies. Comon windies wallop the aussies in the final.

And about lootes pakistan team. They are the most ill disciplined team in the world. Inzy was lucky to get such a less ban for disreputing the game. Now shoaib and Asif are banned for 2 years and one year for drug test. Pakistan team really are in shambles and they deserve it.

Fluppu..

I just woke up..I had a very good sleep and didn't dream about hell either. :P :P

Bidhan40 bro,

Regarding disreputing issue, Rahjan Madhugale's verdict has proved that there was no evidence of ball tampering in that specific match, the wear n tear on the ball was a normal 50 overs old ball. I am sure if you were expelled from an exam hall without doing any mistake or cheating, you would have also protested against it, wouldn't you? I guess Inzi did the same. The umpire should not have played the god in the match. Because of that incident, ICC didn't change the rule on the punishment over the disreputing the game but they are planning to change the rule that match forfeit decisions can't be taken by field umpires alone, match referee will take the final decision.

he he he!! NKC

ke ho bro cricinfo.com lai homepage banaaeko chha ki kaso?? kya updated yaar. Aajkal ta cricket ma aafno IQ ta zero bhaisakyo. Aba ta khelda pani Tennis ball maa maatra ho. :-)

Did I hear Loote saying one of his Indian Friends doesn't like Indian Cricket Team no more?? Don't ever believe in that. Ask him why is he hating Indian Team. Most probably some palm readers might have told him not to support Indian Team if he wants to see Indian Team winning. That is why he is doing that. Indians can change their religion but never change their belief in Indian Cricket Team.

I, personally being grown up watching Indian Team playing in DoorDarshan, used to admire Indian Cricket Team in those days. But Nowadays it is more a good and close contest I would love to watch rather than supporting a team, however watching Indian Team beating Pakistan always makes me smile :-)

Aur yeh Dabur Chyawanprash Chaukaaaa!!!

ocenus,
hahahaha...there was nothing like 'cricket career' for me. the first time i held a bat in my hands was when i was in grade 7. it was a practice bat. one of my friends broke it while trying to hit a six (not of my ball though) hehe..

flip flop,
i am not an india/indian hater! i have always admired 'brave' players, players who can perform regardless of where they are playing, whom they are playing against and at what conditions. kapil dev, mohinder amarnath, rahul dravid are some of the players from indian team whom i envy. but most of them, even tendulkar, put themselves under unnecessary pressure when they play outside india. do u know, anil kumble has almost 600 wickets in test cricket. if you break down his performance, only 150 odd wickets have come from matches he played OUTSIDE india hehe....

tendulkar, the so-called master blaster, has hit more than 60 centuries in total, in both forms of the game. however, only few times india have won, when he scored centuries. he 'pees' under pressure more than any other player, so to speak! :P.

when i first started watching cricket back in the early nintees, i used to admire india, because that was the only team whose most players i recognized. i was being naive. as i started watching pakistan, west indies and australia play, my inclination towards india started to deteriorate. you must be in the same phase --'hallucination', if i may say. grow up, ma'am! there are better(more brave) teams than india to support for ...:P hehe

rahulvai,
hahaha...1982? i was too small a kid to watch cricket during that time. i must be in my mom's lap, during most of the 1982's days hehehe....
however, the first match i ever watched (that i remember of) was that between india and australia in the world cup 1991-92. aus won that match by 1 run!!! hehehehe :P..i remember alan border getting the last man srinath out-run out!

NKC bro,
thanks for the video. that was a classic...hehe...tendulkar peeing in his pants hehehehe

bidhan,
west indies is my second fav team, lara being my fav batsman presently. they were very ominous back in the 70's, 80's and early nintees.

Desmond Haynes
Clive loyd
Viv Richards (my all time fav batsman)
Richie Richardson
Malcolm Marshall
Jeffrey Dujon (the keeper)
Michael Holding
Malcom Marshall
Joel Garner

wow look at the line up!

Camo bro and sn di,
hehe..i don't hate india hai. i just don't like their cricket team :P. and i am serious, i have a indian friend who hates tendulakar! not literally but because of sheer frustration. they adore cricket i know but india have disappointed them time and again. its hard to see the national team not doing well internationally. lately, the have improvised but still they are tigers at home and mice outside home hehe :P bunch of losers, coward hearted, if i may say :P

Loote, I agree that they are lion in their homeground, mice outside..Having said that, I still back Indian team..I don't know the names of the new bunch..Rahul Dravid is the best..He's consistent and is doing pretty good as a captain..I like Afridi and Injamam in Pak team and that's about it..

"Tigers at home and Mice outside" he he he!! well said...ha ha ha!! that was nice piece. They are not as good away as they are in Indian Subcontinent.

It is always worth watching Indian Cricket Team playing against any team in the world of cricket as you never know what's coming next. It can beat any team and be beaten by any team. That is why they say cricket is a game of uncertainty and India is the only team which really reflects the motto of Cricket Uncertainty. he he he!!

I differ your opinion about Sachin Tendulkar hai. He is among few those players who have scored century against every test playing team. I think he was the first player to hit century against all team and was that Steve Waugh who did it later. I am not sure about it, I might be wrong hai.

I used to watch cricket with some of my friends from Nepal India Border area. They comment on each ball the bowler bowls and every shot the batsman plays. I used to listen to their commentary rather than listening to Harsha Bhogle's. I think fun is in there. Those enthusiast fans really make much difference in watching a cricket match.

Have you ever tried playing agains Indian team (Any Indian Team)?? Man, watch them shout "Bowling!! Bowling!!" everytime the bowler pitches the bowl even if it is a wide ball. They totally distract you.

Aba ta dherai purano bhayo tyo kura haru. I love to play again sometimes, but surely with a tennis ball now. :-)

Nepal ko chora pakistan did bring the game into disrepute. There are better ways to disagree with the decision . But not to come to the field so that game is over is not right. He should have thought of about 25000 people who came to the field and millions watching in television .

That is what disrepute is all about. What sort of precedence will it set. If tomorrow umpire gives a wrong dicesion will we see captain taking his players out of the field. If you are unhappy there are better way to protest. I used to like pakistani team but after that incidence and the way there players have been so indisciplied i hate the pakistani cricket team. They are most ill mannered team in the world .

Bidhan40,

Yes, I do accept that Pakistan did bring the game into disrepute (and Inzamam has been punished for that) but the clap doesn't come with only one hand. In my opinion, the stubborness of Darrell Hair is as responsible as Pakistan team if not less to bring the game into disrepute. In the game, Pakistan team did come back to the field after 30 mins to play and this time it's umpires and England team which didn't come back (30 mins delay is not uncommon in cricket game; games are washed out for the whole day; sometimes crowd behaviour can lead to vacate the whole stadium) . So, don't you think the umpires and the english team is equally responsible for wasting the time and money of 25000 people who came to the field and millions watching in television? Don't you think Darrel Hair should have at least consulted with Inzamam before forfeiting the match?

It's human nature to loose the temper if you are punished for something which you have not done. Probably, I would have also lost my temper if I was in Inzamam's shoes because that was first even penalty in a ODI game on the basis of ball tempering and that's without any concrete evidence. And now, you have the outcome of the incident; Inzamam will be back as Pak captain and will be playing for at least few more years and Hair's career as an umpire is almost over. It's not about just one bad decision but it's all about the attitude and stubbornness. Yes, umpires are also humans and they do commit the error. But you can's show your stubbornness and attitude based on your false judgements.

sn di.

balla line ma auno bho hehehe...my sis used to love india. i made her hate india and love pakistan :P...i can convince people u see ! hahah :p

Camo bro,
sachin is a great player, no doubt. i wish he could perform better though, with the amount of talent he has. he is a scary crow, who succumbs under pressure. he does not play too well when the team needs him the most and that's what i hate about him.

bidhan,
i agree with you on pakistan being an ill-disciplined team. but there is more to it. its the freakin politics of pakistan. people use every kind of titbits to put their players in the team. PCB is full of nepotism and pshychophancy. moin khan, easily a better keeper than Rashid latif, has been dropped from the team several times for latif. even waqar was once dropped to place a not so good bowler, ata-ur rehman. its not pleasing, but that's how pakistani cricket is.

Having started watching cricket before 1990 and following it eagerly within the last decade and into the 21st century, the standard of cricket has improved drastically and there is no longer a sense to stay at the crease defend and then make a 100 ball 50. The powerhouses have taken over, we have seen just in the last few innings in a swinging track, some class bowlings and batting performances, infiltrating a disastrous times for the Asians under unimaginably unorthodox wicket, once again proving that on a wicket that has something for the bowlers, we still lack the composure and sheer technique to face, say someone like McGrath, Bond, or Pollock.

Australians are continuing to dominate and Ponting is leading with some absolutely maginificent batting performances over the past years. For the Asians though, there still seems to be problem overseas playing under difficult conditions where there is no mercy for the batsman unless they possess technique and footwork and you need to produce a wonderful innings unlike the sub-continent tracks where Afridi and Shehwag bludgeon bowlers to all parts. Fielding has improved, they can now actually target one stump and hit it there which seemed to be a distant thing to do. There is no question that Indian bowling slump has continued while Pakistan on the other side of the border keep producing star bowling performers. Mohammad Asif in my opinion, is Pakistan's answer to McGrath. But he dreadfully indulged into substance abuse and its very disappointing to see such a talent being damned and will not play which could end his career, although I believe he will be back, Shoaib is doubtful to return to the side anytime in the near future.

And how about Gayle btw? Stand and deliver seems to be his motive and he does it, surprisingly, quiet effectively and langers into some tons that has been his trademark. With Gayle, have they found the new Gordon Greenidge? Perhaps, but the answer seems to be in his ability to hit through the line with great hand-eye cordination and just a full bludgeon meat of the bat with so less follow through. But, South Asians definitely need inspiration to come out of somewhere and for that we might just have to wait for longer now.
