There are two universities. University A 1.In top 100 Universities of the World; 2.Smaller classes(no of students); 3.Lessons given by Professors themselves;no Teaching Assistants 4.Located in relatively small country but very very beautiful city; 5.More Theoritical courses; 6.Prettty High Living Expenses 7.Cooperative Faculty. University B 1.World Famous for that Particular Subject; 2.Relatively big classes(More students than University A); 3.Assistance provided through TAs,in other words TAs are more involved in Teaching rather than the Professors; 4.Located in a big country but not so good city in terms of security & living purposes; 5.More Practical courses; 6.Living Expenses relaitively cheaper than University A 7. A bit Theesss Director NOTE:All the friends opting for University B Need to decide which one to go for.A Few Suggestions will be highly appreciated.

If you could shed some light on the level of education you're going for and the field you are in x, y , and z dimensions, it would help a lot!

Thank you all so far for your suggestions. It is pushing me forward but still whenever I try to come up to the conclusion, I get into confusion again.Damn me! Oys_chill, It will be my final year(but not the last semester) of the university(undergrad).Since I am an exchange student(travelling around different universities of different countries) I have to go back to my home university for my last semester & final year project.I was told that in order to get the final degree from my home university I need to attend my last courses(final semester) from my home university(that is again in a different country). But it is possible that I may stay there(University A or University B) for my project or work under the supervisor of that university. Am I confusing you all again or you got me?Sorry, I am confused myself. I am very bad with the choices. Still struggling with these two options. Jyotika

Jyotika...It would have been really helpful if you were forthcoming about your Major. If you have a general idea of what your major is going to be, I would be able to help you better. If you are thinking of social science major, I would go for University A. If you are thinking of science or engineering major (I think this is what you are looking for as you mentioned R&D) I would go for University B. As you are looking for higher education at this point, forget the college ranking. That doesnt come in very handy after some point. Go for the university that specializes in your field. This is what you said: 1.World Famous for that Particular Subject; It would be famous for a reason..right? And higher student number indicates that this university is good at teaching this. From what you have said about studying abroad..I am sure you have gathered good experience by attending different schools and living in different cities. Honestly, I think now its time you concentrate on your field of study and choose an university that might not make the cut for the most picture perfect universities. In this case, University B looks like a good choice. I went to something similar to your univ. A myself and loved every minute of it. But transferred to univ. B for junior year...then went to yet another university similar to B for my Masters. You can consider doing something similar too. As I know that these made-for-you universities provide much better education on your foundation courses...but limited on big scale research..which will come in handy when you start looking for jobs. Hope this helps!

I would go for University B if you are not willing to expend a lot of money without any assistantships. Also,You said world famous for that particular course you are enrolling in. Also you mentioned practical courses. After you graduate that's gonna help a lot. For place which you did not like that much, it is not necessary that you live forever over there. After you graduate , you can move and always remember not everything can be perfect. Hope this helps!

Thank you all! One another option was not mentioned in the previous post, that is University C 1.Relatively New University 2.Located in a very famous country but not so famous city 3.Young & Enthusiastic Faculty Members 4.Very rich in Resources(Lots of grants) 5.Purely Practical Courses. Note: The study is related to Science & Technology(Engineering),involving lots of Maths, theorms and another evolving field of Science. I risked to be the best cocktail by taking the best out of all the above mentioned, but now , if I won't be able to make the right selection I will turn out to be the worst cocktail. P.S. Junior students are full of horror stories from the University B.

jyotika, i have been reading this thread. I guess the answer is simple. just choose one and go with it. Every option will have its + and - side, most time in life you just have to decide and run with it. Trust me, every decision you make will have its own adventure that you will have to live through! Anyways, Good Luck!
