Dear all,
Finally here we go. Football is BACK ! Lets have some fun like previous years and root for our teams.
Here is the link to make the predictions. I will try my best to update the picks by Monday night every week.
http://sajha.com/sajha/html/sportsprediction.cfm?yearid=0d3484e7-c255-4874-bcc2-5960f8fc761e
Brief overview of what I think will the season will go.
Pats, Bengals, Texans, Raiders, Eagles, Bears, Falcons and Niners will win their division. I personally root for the vikings but I think we are going to end up with top 3 picks next year in the draft. Would love if the Pats can win it all.
Who are you rooting for? Dont forget to make the picks.
Lets GO !!!

Steelers over the 49ers. That is my bias superbowl prediction as I am for black and yellow.

Don't count the Texans out......barring serious injuries to Shaub, they should be in the AFC title game, if not the Super Bowl. From NFC, its a little wide open.....tempted to say 49ers but a lot depends on how Alex Smith performs.....Defense is still rock solid.

Okay,
With the latest developments, maybe I will put Bears over Lions. Lions SERIOUSLY lack a running back. Infact at the moment, they do not have any, not even backup's backup, all are banged up.
So Bears would make it as a wild card team as of now.

He has averaged over 10 (mostly 12) INTs each of his last 4 seasons. His completion % hasn't gone above 64 and his QB rating have fluctuated from 80 (last season) to 93. Yep, he is rightfully underrated.

I agree with kiddo. Flacco is rightfully underrated, he is VERY INCONSISTENT, that is why he never makes it to the top ten quarterback list. Ravens win with their defense and Ray Rice. So I just ranked these quarterbacks based on performances over few years to see where Flacco was:
1. Aaron Rodgers
2. Drew Brees
3. Tom Brady
4. Ben Rothelisberger
5. Eli Manning
6. Cam Newton
7. Matthew Stafford
8. Peyton Manning (He didn't play, but was still considered one of the top ten QBs based on what his loss did to Indy)
9. Philip Rivers
10. Michael Vick
11. Joe Flacco
Therefore, if a QB isn't ranked in top 10 position it will be hard to win a superbowl. You could argue that Eli Manning wasn't a top 10 quarterback a year before, but the difference between Flacco and Manning is, Manning makes a 100 times better clutch quarterback than Flacco, also, New York has a pair of celebrity recievers while Ravens' receiver fail to get any sort of recognition.
On a different note, I am now listing all the players I have drafted on three fantasy football league I am playing this season:
1st Fantasy league |
|
2nd Fantasy League |
|
3rd Fantasy League |
|
Drew Brees (QB-NO) |
QB |
Tom Brady (QB-NE) |

Philip Rivers (QB-SD) |
QB |
DeMarco Murray (RB-DAL) |

Antonnio Brown (WR-PIT) |

Jarius Byrd (S - BIL) |
S |
Peyton Manning (QB-DEN) |
|
Ryan Matthews (RB-SD) |
|
Rashad Jennings (RB-JAC) |
|
Steve Smith (WR-CAR) |
|
Percy Harvin (WR-MIN) |
|
Anquan Boldin (WR-BAL) |
|
|
|
|
|
Owen Daniels (TE-HOU) |
|
|
|
|
|
Jay Cutler (QB-CHI) |
|
|
|
The ones that are highlighted in yellow are bench players.
Based on the above list, I need some input
- In the first league, should I play Antonnio Brown instead of Andre Johnson? Andre Johnson hasn't fully recovered from the injury while Brown has not only been in excellent shape, but has signed a multi million dollar contract and has already displayed a stellar performance in preseason.
- In the second league, should I play Rashad Jennings instead of Ahmad Bradshaw? With the absence of MJD, Jennings has already been regarded as a starter for Jacksonville, and he has shined very well.
- In the third league, I am debating between Manning and Rivers, I am not comfortable with Manning, but River's performances over last two years have been less than ordinary as well. So who should I play as a starting QB? In the same league, should I play Cedric Benson instead of AP? Green Bay is pass happy, but AP has history of injuries and his ACL still isn't 100%.
What do you guys recommend?

My Fantasy Picks. I know Ryan Mathews and Trent Richardson are banged up but I think they were a steal for round 3&4. Behoov, how did you manage to get all those 1st rounders on your 1st league?

Jonny,
I lucked out on that one. Out of eight fantasy players (including me) in that league, there were three that were team loyals, one guy picked all players from Dallas, the other one from Giants and the other one from Detroit. Also, one dude accidentally drafted a defense in the first round (bummer, I know) and therefore I had a very good draft picks on my first league. I am very much inclined to believe I might win it all without much effort.

Ohh. My league includes 16 players (including me) so it was very competitive. Still your 1st league is like a dream team.

Not trying to be a smartypant, but my speculation is that there were at least 8/9 people ahead of Jonny for the first draft pick who would have drafted all start QBs. That is what happens when a league is very competitive.
But you got a very impressive Roster Aakash, you might win it all. However, Gore is coupled with Jacobs this year, and they have added Randy Moss into the mix, do you think he might carry as many times as he did last year?
Vikes just revealed AP will be a gametime decision, so on my third league I'd have to play Cedric Benson instead of him to be on a safer side, I can already smell the brewing trouble, I wonder how much can Benson carry in the offence of pass happy Green Bay.

I prefer to draft QB on my 1st round. I was #10 to draft and by my time Rogers, Brady and Brees were gone. All the top RB too except MJD and since he is yet to sign a contract I picked Eli instead. By the way Aakas, is that your pick by round coz I am confused how in the world did you got Jordy Nelson and Gore on #5 & 6 and Brandon Marshall before Rob Gronkowski?

Behoov, i too dont feel very good about Frank Gore. I might have to start Willis McGahee instead of Gore. I lack a solid RB, thats bout it. I hope Brees, Marshall and Gronkowski stay healthy and perform at the highest level. I just recently picked up Ben Tate (back up for Adrian foster) whom i may start few times depending on matchups.
I am totally shocked looking at your 1st fantasy team..u can win that league easily.
I am only playing in 1 league so far..kind of hoping to join one more.

Jonny, Yes. I was at #4 , i drafted Brees even though i kind of regret for not picking Ray RIce as no1 pick. anyways, yeah. rest followed my way. no 2 Marshall 3. Gronkawski and so on. ...Gronkowski was picked on 3rd round , 24 overall... I was not going to pick Rob Gronkowski at No 2 cause i knew he would be there at 3. same with Gore and Nelson and everyone else... i missed out on picking AJ Green whom i was hoping to get at No 3, the guy right before me got him..

As and I usually don't pick QB as my first round pick. RB is the way to go but this time i wanted to try something different. we will see if that backfires on me.

Yeah, gameday it is. Today is my version of घटस्थापना, except that this dashain fervor lasts for five more months.
I want Boys to lose, never cared about them. ' COACH' Jerry Jones needs to go first, only then they can speak about superbowl rings.
That said, I want DeMarcus Ware to sack 5 times, DeMarco Murray to run 200 yards and 2 touchdowns, and Dez Bryant to receive for 200 yards and 2 touchdowns (I am whistling dixie) and still want Giants to win.
Fantasy football lands everyone in a huge paradox.
Please keep this thread alive.

ha ha Behoove that's a tall order for DeMarco Murray and Dez and still have the GMen win the game.
The only way Dez is gonna get 200 yards is if he throws the ball from one end zone and catches it in the other end zone like Mr. PERFECT did in the video below:

Nah Chaurey! I mentioned I was whistling Dixie, but you never know. I have those players in one of my fantasy leagues hence I am rooting for ONLY them and not their team.
