I-nepali you will have to be permanent residence in oder to get into the service any branch of the military. Your age should not pass over 30-33 I forgot which one is currect. To be an officer you have to be the US citizen.

hey i_nepali,
here is what u need to join the us armed forces:

- first u need to be US citizen or at least u have to have Green Card
- u should have ur high-school and that is equivalent to (+2) back in country....
- there are certain physical tests that u've to go through..... (u should be healthy)
- u need to go through ASVAB test and u should pass that test

i think that is pretty much...... if u need more info : email me : sateesh.bhattarai@us.army.mil

Bravo,
Jai america.(Nepal army ma bhako bhaye Jai nepal bhanthe..lol). Hey man, I was going through the post and found that you said green card holders can apply for army. Well I am with lockheed martin for a long time working for military/defense. I am on technical side and few years back there was a big opening on tech side and my supervisor told me that i need citizenship to go to army as it is considered to be a federal job. Damn!!. Where are you based at? Fort Knox? Me at Dayton.

11Bravo don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against you or people in the army.

I just wanted to give my opinion when you made such a broad statement like "we're the one who is providing ur freedom and security so that u can enjoy ur freedom".

No you didn't ask me where I work at, but neither did I, but you felt obliged to divulge that piece of information out of your own free will - or the little free will which you have during the time you're not working.

I don't work for a place where my actions are determined by someone elses whim, where I don't have a right to question the validity of my actions. My work does not include being directly or indirectly involved in killing innocent people whose only crime is to be born in a different country that the US govt does not look favorably upon.

I'm not asking you why you joined the army. I'm just asking you whether you think it's wrong for the US govt to invade other countries and kill innocent civilians?

This is not a complicated question. You can just say yes you think it's wrong or no you don't. If you have some brains and want to argue your position please feel free to do so but do act like a brave soldier and face the battle whether it be in the field or in your mind itself.

Going to army maybe the worst decision ever especially if you are not white. Its not even good for white people. If you can't achieve anything else in life then only join the army.
