Not any particular occasion, however I have been promising too many friends at Sajha and elsewhere to share with them this video clip from the movie I had acted in and now that I finally managed to encode and upload it to Youtube, I am sharing it with you all.

 

Here is a song from the video movie SAUGAT (1990) featuring myself and one of the “heroines” of the movie, Bina Basnet (Budhathoki).

 

The movie itself was of a mediocre quality and I am probably not doing great in the song either. (To tell you the truth, when the movie was “released” at the only “Video hall” of that time at Bhrikuti Mandap, I was more embarrassed than been proud or happier and I used to make sure before sending my friends to the theater that they do not expect any art but just the moving picture of mine and that’s all.).

 

Since then, however, what Mark Twain has said about adventures (“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do”) has proved true to myself.

 

In my case, it was seventeen years since then to be convinced fully that I would have regretted missing the opportunity to play in this movie, I would say, of an adventurous quality and equally adventurous match.

 

With a deeply satisfying prior experience of acting in the plays like “Usko Kavitama Aba Ko Rundaina” and “Romeo Juliet” with me, I was not very proud and certain about this movie. However, I enjoyed every bit of doing it and I am thankful to my director, Prayag Raj Shrestha (an English teacher by profession and a painter, writer and director by hobby) and all the crew and the cast of the movie for the unforgettable and now precious moments they gave me privilege to share with them. I cherish them all.

 

And to my precious Sajha friends, here is the song “Swarga Kahan Chha Kunni, Timro Angaalo Ta Ho Ni” from the video movie “Saugat” (1990).

 

The song was filmed at Tribhuvan Park, Thankot and Dhunibesi.

हजुरको पर्दाको कलाकारिता हेर्न रहर त मेटिएन नै तर पनि यत्ति हेर्ने मौका दिनु भएको मा फेरि पनि धन्यवाद हजुर लै ।  हामी नेपाली सिने जगतमा राम्रो कलाकारलाइ देख्ने मौकाबाट  बन्चित भएको चै पक्कै रहेछौ ।

 बरु देवरजीलै'लम्पसार पारेर माफी ' मगाउन त पर्यो नै Think about it  है।

अनिखेरि त्यो अन्तिम गितमा किन बेला बेला बच्चा देखाउदै, गित गाउदै, अनिखेरि हजुरले किन उस्को कान बुच्चैबनाइदेको नि ear ring  मागेर?

I remember you mentioning in the past of acting but did not know it was a full fledged hero role, badhai chha hai  albeit seventeen years later :)

Other songs were great, but the last one takes an entire bakery! I like the actors in the song. The guy is an overacting ki aulaad although I must admit, he's very entertaining.

My unicode was fine in  other threads, but it doesn't work on this one. Ke bhayo?

 

Anyway, nepe-jee, you made me nostalgic. Sajha bhandaar uthal puthal pari teti puraana thread haru khojne jaangar kyari aa ho budheshkaalaan? Ramaailaa din haru yaad aaye. We will try to make it more fun this time again; but no backyard parties during NY's winter, I guess.

Poontedaji,

 

San has done a wonderful job to organize the current content of Sajha. However, when it comes to the “archive”, particularly the search option, it’s lousy, to say the least.

 

I think a well organized “archive” and a user-friendly search engine are very important for a serious website.

 

A hard to search archive will discourage posters to post rich content and instead encourage them to become “one-liner posters”.

 

I think San should give a due attention to it.

 

Also, some pictures are missing from the archive. Here is one to remind a good time we had at your place.
