Over the years, there have been many changes but one thing has remained constant and that is the spiralling down of Nepali politics, Nepali economics, and if there is such a thing as the general Hope index of the Nepali people at large.
Apparently even my hope index had spiralled down that is why I had a very conservative goal for this fundraiser of 44 days for a conservative $6000.
But, all of you have proved that no matter how bad the situation is in Nepal, no matter how much lack of systematic and authentic politics have negatively impacted the general standard of Nepali society and Nepali individual, and no matter how much the Nepali politicians have killed our hope for a better future of our country, - we Nepalis still have genuine hearts and we still have the power within us to make positive changes in our beloved country for our beloved underpriviledged countrymen, women, children and elder folks.
It is overwhelming that in 2 days we are more than 50% into our goal. This speaks volumes of our Nepali heart. The Nepali दिल is indeed very large and we are very emotional and respectful and supportive of our elders and our underpriviledged counterparts, but the reality is that we are not able to personally get involved in the grass root level because of our own personal commitment, schedule and most important, geographic location. Even then, when we get a chance to show our support, we don't hold back and we give support दिल खोलेर.
With that I wanted to thank each and every one of you that have supported this fundraiser in any which way you could by contributing any dollar amount. Special acknowledgement is due to the following individuals for their Honorable Support of $200 or more.
- Anup Karmacharya
- Amrish Karmacharya
As few of you have mentioned, this fundraiser is far from being over! We still have to raise almost $3000 more to be able to provide the 5Lakh Dil Shova needs right now. Once we meet this goal we will create more goals for the sustainability of her commendable work.
Let's continue to share this effort to reach our goal faster so we can do more in the days to come.
Happy Friday!

No question about the 'Punya Karma' by Dilshova didi. As some commented validly, should not we make the kids (if not the elders) do some product oriented works in their leisure time ? I understand they have to study and do home work, but they can manage at least one hour a day. Look at the school going children in the villages. They carry fodder for the cattle from the forest, fetch water from far away rivers etc. and still go to the school.
My point is : RATHER THAN OFFERING FISH EVERYDAY TEACH THEM HOW TO FISH ONCE !
Having said that thanks for those who have contributed. I am going to Nepal soon and will visit the location in person to make my 'Yatha sakya' contribution.

I wish people either joined hands to promote the cause or just stopped boring us with whatever jibberish they're yapping. Take your ideologies to Philosophy 101 class or something.
In the meantime, lets not shop sharing the page, promoting the noble cause and keep contributing.

Some people think they are the only people who donated money for Dil Fund. They (he) take every opportunity to dig at the people who might be helping behind the scene for this noble cause. If you have any problem with those people simply open another dedicated thread instead if yapping and cursing over here. Lets stop this kind of nonsense rant and instead motivate others to donate with better approach.

why is the target only $6000?
why not 100 thousand dollar? How many Nepalese are in usa? There are thousands of Nepalese?at least 1 thousand
1 Nepali has to support only 1 hundred dollar. Thousand of Nepali will make 1000 * 100 = 100000 dollars.
Increase the target line to 100 thousand dollars.

@good_mission: I wish everybody has the same thought like yours. With this range, seems like it's going to be hard to reach the target and you're talking about hundred thousand. Yes, you're right that if only one person in U.S. donate one dollar than it's going to be piece of cake but the main problem is advertisement. It's all about publicity. The more people will know about this, more it'll be good for this fund. But it seems like only few of us who are regular in sajha donated and rest don't even know about it. So let's post the link in our facebook, twitter or any other social networking site so that people will know about this fund. Let's do it and at least reach the target.

We should post it on our facebook page and inform our friends and family and ask them to pass it on to their links as well. This is not getting enough publicity. The fund has almost stalled right now.

It's really sad that after a much enthusiastic beginning, the fundraising has almost stalled at around $ 4000. Dil Shova Shrestha needs Rs. 500,000 to release her house from collateral in the bank. However, good news is that the another fundraiser has raised about $ 2700.00 through http://www.gofundme.com/aamaghar. So, it makes total $ 6700 which is equivalent to Rs. 570,00.00 even when applying the exchange rate @ Rs.85/dollar. So. my idea is why not send this amount to Dil Shova collectively at the earliest possible, so that she can pay the bank for her house asap. And let's continue raising fund every month, whatever amount is collected till the end of every month, send it to her on the first day of next month. This way she can have regular cash flow to meet her daily necessities.

Nepalese are very humble people. They will donate only in the name of God who they think they will see after their death.

If ever you thought you wanted to do something for country or someone but wasnot able to, here is your chance.
I feel the sajha fund raiser has kind of reached almost it's saturation point. Although sajha is great platform to get in touch with lots of great people, we all can look forward to platforms with greater reach such as facebook.
WIth socal networking we can spread this good deed just as word of mouth. I know some of you friends will be hesistant to take up this cause. But if there ever was a cause to risk your personal identity, I would choose this.
Please share, like or comment as much as you can. I believe it is worth trying. Here wer go Dil fund facebook page: www.facebook.com/DilFund
