Dear Sajha friends,

Pranav Dhakal is our wonderful friend and it is on his behalf we are making this appeal. It is unfortunate that we could not introduce a person so cheerful, optimistic and compassionate in a better circumstance.

Throughout these many years of friendship he has endlessly won our hearts with his witty "shayaris", empathetic spirit, and has personally impressed me with his enduring optimism. His motivation to help fellow Nepalese is unequaled. There are many of us whose memories with Pranav began at the airport, where he volunteered to pick up new Nepali students with that big smile on his face.

Recently, Pranav was admitted to Overland Park Hospital in Kansas City to get treated for a rare infection. As of now, his condition is very CRITICAL. The infection has spread throughout his body including his heart, lungs, liver and kidneys. His brain has suffered a condition called "sinus thrombosis". Doctors say that it is difficult to cure this condition when only a minimal dose of antibiotics can be administered to him in order to prevent further damage to his kidneys.

We felt helpless to see a person as enthusiastic and as motivated as Pranav lying on the hospital bed fighting for his life. This is an appeal on his behalf to pray for him and for his family during this difficult time. This is also an appeal to every one of you to DONATE whatever amount you can to help him cover the medical expenses but more importantly to bring his family members here to care for him.

Please let his parents know that our prayers are with their son and I would like to Thank you for doing everything you're doing especially the Paypal setup where we could all at least donate money. I like the details that were posted on the web.

Don't you think it was too much detail then we need to know.

It would be nice if details be limited to pranav's health other crucial issues rather then who came and what they said.

However it was very good updates, thanks , and please do keep everybody informed about the progress.

Yeah i agree with nirudra..I guess it is better to respect some privacy of pranav and just give info about his health updates. Other details are your very personal perception of the situation. Hope you will do that in the future

thanx for updating the web-site. It's awsome. I have been in touch with Jaya dai, but i hesitate to call him all the time, because i know he is doing a lot there and he needs his own time too.

As you may have noticed, the latest update is the first of its kind. This was meant for those who are near and dear to Pranav and who physically could not be there to receive Pranav's parents. Since I am the writer it is entirely my interpretation/perception of the events. Previously, in this thread there had been questions about the validity of Pranav's case, so I meticulously chose to divulge some instances of my intense experience from yesterday (that definitely was NOT all of it). This was in no way meant to offend or overwhelm any of the readers. I have received responses from both the sides of the spectrum, those who appreciate the details and those who thought they were a little in excess. But I have come to realize that I perhaps have not chosen the right balance of disclosing and withholding information on that particular post. I apologize to all of you for this. I will refrain from doing that again unless I feel a serious need for it. The ONLY purpose of this entire undertaking is to help Pranav and my EVERY step has no other objective.
I do appreciate your feedback. I also thank ALL the donors and well wishers of Pranav. I have been receiving mails from all over, and while I may not be able to respond to all of them individually, I can make sure that they are read to Pranav’s family. It will mean an entire world for them at this time. Thank you.

Pranav is passionate about airplanes and I have also uploaded a picture of his plane. I know Pranav as a very determined person, and he uses a white board to jot down his thoughts. Ya! Pranav is full of life. We used to go down to the HOBBY shop, to look at aeroplanes. I also went to the lake where people flew those things with him. I'm still wating for him to finish that 3 foot plane in his room so that we can crash it and get rid of it.

Full of life. He's always up for Shayari which brings smiles to lot of faces.
