Divaa... the flag should represent the people of nepal... if you want unique and special its very easy to make another flag unique and special also plus even better. fyi monaliza has a special and extraordinary appearance ( specially her smile ) not due to her, but due to di vinci. he worked on the painting always improving and not being satisfied until his old age when he could paint no longe.... you can make an analogy of sorts here, the monaliza ( flag and nepal ) and di vinci ( the people of nepal).

Majority of nepalese don't want to change our national flag.Only the stupid people think changing the national flag would give something to the nation.people would protest to death if somebody try to change it.
change the attitude, not the name.you can't change the history anyway.

Hi Gesar! i know that the flag can be made unique and special if u change it into hexagonal or octagonal or make it colorful or colorless..But my main point is that the National flag of Nepal should not be changed..it has its own originality..I don't think there exist someone that can be compared with Da Vinci. If somebody paint the painting and call it " Its a modern Monaliza" .do u think it can be compared with the original master piece???It was just an simple example.Don't take it tooo seriously ......Peace

Divaa... am not saying to copy... thats what most people of nepal thinks and is doing, every thing they compare or try to copy in real or in their speech. for example sajha here. it always us or india, mostly the later... why??? can we create some thing that is better or different from the rest??? di vinci again for example, you think he create some thing that was new or never invented ??? he made improvements, yes no original idea!!!! you be suprised how many new idea there are in the world these day, to answer that would make a educated guess as none!! all are modification or better of the original!!! now we have some thing like the flag that to me can be changed which does not represent the population og nepal as a whole... it may be shocking to you and think its not the mojority that thinks that but what about the rest that does not think that?? do you not want to respect them??? to me its simple we do not want violence, we are mature, smart and with compasion to respect all the people of nepal. its hard i know to let go, everyone has in love before... a analogy for the point am making. best wishes and hope everyone can carry out discussion in a civic manner... peace and prosperity to all friends even those that tell to look for other countries if not in agreemant with them..

We love our country and its people but we do not love Rana dynesty and Shah dynesty ( except Prithivi Narayan) This flag represent Rana and shah family and their continuity..............! I I know this is unique and beautuful but it is not internationally standardaise! Please do not make emotional comment, be realistic and think for comming nepali generation.
this flag of nepal was used after jung bahadur became Shree teen maharaj. Originally the flag of nepal was the flag of the king (shree panch), which is the upper triangle with the crecent and sun. The flag of the shree teen was the lower triangle with the sun. Once the wedding was confirmed of the daughter of King Surendra and son of Jung Bahadur, they also decided that the flag be joined to make one flag that represents the family and the country. Thus the new flag with double triangle was born. so, if the national anthem is changed citing to remove the King's rule, then the flag should also be changed

let our flag be same like india's flag with our present flag inside the chakra of Indian flag.....

I do not get what u mean "abc". We have to cherish what the late kings has done for us. THey are the history and need to be preserved and there is no point in changing the flag.Thats all i gotta say. That is what we need to know.

Website ma je lekhyo tyai patyaune?? I have seen the flag next to Prithivi Shah's potraits... and ofcourse in the temples that were built/ carved long before ranas took over the country..... so whatever the flag means.....i dont reallly know wut it does...

Changing national flag for the sake of change is total nonsense.

It is always beautiful to be different, In my opinion I think it is a very bad idea to change the national flag or the national dress. The only change we need in our country is to educate people and little bit of development here and there. Changing the flag is not going take our country anywhere. We have a rich culture and our flag signifies that. We should preserve it. When you go to Europe and see the old building and the painting you might find some of them ugly but believe me nothing can replace that. It is very ancient, old and on its own a beautiful cliche´. You might not agree with me but I thought I might drop what I believe as well.

You raise an evidence of Prithwinarayan's potrait which was made by Artist Amar Chitrakar. King Mahendra and Balkrishna Sama requested to Amar to make the popular potrait and Salik in singhdurbar.I am not sure how he put chandra surya jhanda in prithwi's potrait! I agree that our tringular shape flag had been using for centuries in nepal which influenced by baidik dharma. My point is : we made secular state, trying to change Rastra Gaan so this is the time to improve our flag also!
