According to Kirkpatrick (British missionary), Gorkha Army honorary rank were Thapa, Rana in medieval history of Nepal.

That Does Not mean that these people were Chettri. (1) Bhakti Thapa (2) Bhimsen Thapa and (3) Amarshingh Thapa all were Magar and “Thapa” were their Gorkhali army honorary ranks.

These people were tribal people of Magar of gorkha army. Prithavi narayan Shah gave them honorary rank as a Thapa and Rana etc.

But later, people use as their surname. We can find this kind of many historical examples in Nepal social cultural history.

Like Newar of kathmandu, Does not mean only Shrestha and Bajracharya. There were so many different tribal people mixed up. But later most of the people convert their last surname as Shrestha. Outsiders start to tell Newar as a caste those who live inside kathmandu.

There is lots of example in Nepali historical book which is written by Baburam Acharya. Like Nepal old proverb.

" Kam garne Hanuman, Pagari thap ney Dheydoo"

Okay, I heard it for final and no more bullshits.
I don't have any fued with newars and many of them are my best of friends. But one thing I don't understand that they keep calling themselves the inhabitat of ktm valley and as if they are separate of brahmans and chhetries. (This proves to some extent that why malla period is known as the dark period in the history of nepal.) There is no documentation of anything in this period. Or may be a group of people are playing politics. Newars, all they know about themselves is that they are the inhabitats of ktm valley.
But the fact is, more than half of present newars came from India much later than the early malla period. Even malla is a sanskrit term that tells where they are rooted. Lichchhavis came from Vaisali in India, who were later degraded to Pode, by mallas. In malabar hills in India, some brahmans intermingled with the native tribes and started eating buffaloes but still kept their status. I am still searching for the source, coz I know I read it somewhere, no sooner I find it I will come up with it here. Those brahmans said to have entered ktm valley, probably, for they were not excepted as pure ones in India, or I don't know, may be in order to maintain their so called superiority, they started new customs and rituals that pretty much shaped up the present day newar culture. There is a community in India known as kayastha, which is between brahman and chhetri, they have surnames like pradhan, kayastha etc. which is also found in newar community. apart from that, bajracharya, shrestha, karmacharya, rajbhandari, all are sanskrit originated surnames, which also proves their link to india. Only bhaktapure newars have surnames that sounds pure newari, like nyhachho, bijukchhe, etc. And all those kins of Malla kings after their defeat from PN shah, said to have changed their surname to shrestha because of fear, in order to disguise themselves and prevent from getting exterminated. That's why shresthas are well established in ktm valley than other newars. Pradhans and amatyas are do gooders in Lalitpur for they were the ministers of newar regime. Brahmans called them Vaishyas and newars got angry and said that they imposed cast systems on them but look what you did to lichchavis, and look what their status is now. You should be ashamed of yourselves before calling brahmans the innovator of caste system in ktm valley.
Any newars here who can enlighten me more?

Some call them self neta, some call them self jagire ,bussiness man..police man....students...raja....kisan....so on. But behind them.....you guess who......."GUNDAAS'' Am I right mr.Gundaa ji ? Gundaas can be from any caste .No problem .

What contribution Bahun people did to Nepal in 5 decades?

Does anybody have any clue about it?

In Nepal:

(1) Tharu, Dhimal does Farming and Cultivation which create 2nd largest economy of Nepal. They feed nepalese and generate capital revenue, too.

(2) Rai, Limbu, Gurung, Magar goes to british, singapore, Arab and Hong Kong where they earn money and send back to Nepal. This process Nepal generate capital income, monetary trasaction and generate economy of Nepal in many sectors. They also protect the world from WWI and WWII as well as other conflicts, So they earn reputation and honor from around the world for all Nepalese and Nepal. So we proudly say "We are Gurkha". These people generate Nepal's number one economy.

(3) Lama, Sherpa climb mountains and run travel agencies which creates job market and generate capital revenue as well. These people also introduce Nepal and Nepalese around the world.

(4) Newars they do business and generate nepal good economy as well as generate job market, too.

(5) Bahun and Chettri, We only know these people do heavy corruption, briberies, smuggling, blackmarketing, misuse power and authority, racism and all other crimes. These people do all kind of corrupt politics in Nepal and We ordinary and true Nepalese are suffering since 5 decades or more.

Bahun are worst in our History. They are always ruler. 90 percentage of govenmental offical belongs to Bhaun. Because, they know how to trick chettri, newar and other caste and get postion without having good qualification. so Mr Tiwar, Nepal is going to fail state due to Bahun.
