Hello friends in IT,
Has anyone worked on 1099? What is it and at what scenario is it a better option than W2?

I have been working in W2 for a consulting company. On occasion, during a job search, vendors ask to work on their W2 or as Independent contractor. I understand W2 is an employee and 1099 is self employee are different by tax.

At what scenario is it a better option than W2?
