We all know the severity of Covid-19 by now. How it is affecting your life/career? or you are worried about layoff? financial impact?
My few suggestions
1.) Do not try to do job hop at this time. I am seeing lots of cases where offers are getting rescinded even if people got the written offer. Even if you get a job, there is a high chance that you will be laid off considering you are a new employee and potential of having low impact.
2.) If you are in paid internship, ask your manager if there is any potential lay off. You should willing to take a pay cut just to maintain your F1-status.
3.) May/Summer will be the worst months for graduate in my opinion due to all these lay off happening and hiring freeze. The economy will take few months at least to come back up. Try to postpone your graduation if possible.
4.) Do not travel at all.
5.) Apply hardship EAD if you are student.
6.) If you are currently being laid off, apply unemployment immediately and start preparing for your interview aggressively. There will be huge number of people looking for job once this thing is over and you will have to be ready more than ever.

My promotion with significant pay raise got put on hold

Hit me pretty hard. I was supposed 2 travel nepal this april, but unfortunately my 2 year vacation leave days will be spent on quarantine . This is worst anyone can get. If crisis prolongs for more than 6 months I think my job will be in stake . My mortgage is pretty high, almost half of my salary goes on mortgage. So pretty worried. If I lose this job, I have no energy to start over so I'll be moving nepal for good . Very crucial for me, this can change my life . So I'm in wait n see . This is exciting 😁

SSK, sorry man. yeah sucks but it is definitely not the worst anyone can have it even in your case. What if Covid-19 didn't get resolve and you stuck in Nepal forever? That would absolutely suck. So there is obviously some positive side.

Forget about 6 months, if this thing prolongs next couple of months, our jobs are in stake and will see tons of layoff. Companies have only so much cash reserve.

I was thinking to change job to IT field . Is it a bad time ? I am in hot job market area though. Do you think IT sector will be hit hard too ?

@harayoharayo, the hottest job market for IT is SF and Seattle for IT industry, and I am hearing stories from those cities. Things are changing so much that they are doing decisions overnight. Please be careful.

Virus will slow down after April 14, as Guru has changed it's position on March 30th and Surya will get strong after April 14. Rahu, and Ketu's effect will be down as a result of this. However, complete cure will be when Rahu will move from it's present house on September.

The problem is this corona virus won't be fully eradicated for a very long time even if in short term everything starts to become normal...Until and unless those who have already been affected is not isolated and quarantined properly how will this ever pass away?? Unless they actually implement the Nepali style lockdown, people will still walk around. They will always have an excuse to go outside, be it to run an errand or for a walk. And Cuomo is actually doing better for NY then trump is doing for United States.
