Requesting some information: US citizen traveling to Nepal Via Delhi Transit. I believe our tickets are not connecting flight as we had to make two separate payments. US to Delhi and Delhi to Ktm. Now my question is how does transit work out in Delhi. Do we need to clear immigration in Delhi then re enter to airport to catch the flight to Nepal? We have like 10 hrs transit. Please suggest if you have had similar experience

Please contact your travel agent. Never been through that route. But, my understanding is if you have separate tickets then it is not connecting flights and you will have to claim your baggage and re-enter to airport to catch the flight for Nepal. Is there a reason why you choose Delhi route? I find Qatar route very easy and hassle free.

I have not use Delhi route, but information based on who have travelled - you need to collect luggage at Delhi Airport and check in again. Delhi Custom could be too much troublesome. I do not think you need to leave the airport and reenter though. Luck.

Thank you , I’ll talk to the Agent and see what he says. The reason for choosing that route is simply cost, as other popular route like Middle East are highly expensive owing to summer vacation, and we are a family of four traveling together.

It is a couple years old story. They will not treat you as international traveller, someone will take your passport and will vanish for couple hours which gives nightmares (per story teller) , you have to get your luggage and check in there. Hope they are changed by now and treat Connecting flight to Nepal as international or less hassle.
