A week ago I started wondering how I could use my computer science knowledge to help Nepal. And it came to my mind. The internet is slowly becoming coomon in Nepal, mostly in Kathmandu and other cities. Assuming that within the next decade or two, some of our villages too will have access to the Internet, we must find a way to tranlate web documents written in English language to Nepali language. It will take decades before Nepalese in rural places will be able to understand English. Therefore, an automatic translator that tranlates the English language to Nepali must be developed.

The Indians have already done it and farmers in some villages of India are using it to gather information on agriculture so that they can become more productive.
