Baby Phat..... it's not about caste.... I don't think this day is celebrated by only Bahun's and Chettris, if remember there are lots of caste who have brathamanda.... so why just bahun's. I see many caste heping this caste all the time.......... what they don't realize is Bahun's are their masters if not look around who is the boss of most of all the political parties in nepal.... even moast leadership is bahun's...... there you go... !!!! I have nothing to say.. most other caste are like sheeps .. follow the bahun..............

Let's not talk about the caste, No one 100% follow the caste system at all and I think there is no need for it at least we who are educated and are living in the 21st Cent.

I think all the hindu festivals are for the all the hindu or non-hindu people who wants to celebrate them. Not only for the Bahun.

By the way I use to be Bahun too. But now I am only a human and my caste is a female.

I used to go MaMa-Ghar, and did janai , while rounding a janai ko doro I used to say "Janai baddhu bali raja Paisa nadi katiai naja la." Everbody laught and gave me extra paisa. Idid batrabandha the bage of 7...........Now I forget mantra,,,,,,,,,,,does anybody knows.........?

U know Janai sucks, while sleeping and also while swimming..........

Its been 5 years I threw.................. Damn JANAI......... but I used to love putting HATE DORO and felt proud to have on so many colours......and we counted on school who had many DOROs, the best one........ ha ha ha.........

Only people who wear Janai can rule nepal.... be it Bahun, Chettri or Newar and someother groups of people who wear Janai....... The vast majority of nepalis wear Janai... do the survey...... it's like saying there will be a black president of usa next year, because blacks are getting richer than ever.............it doesn't matter how much money the indegenious(whatever the spelling) people gather and have, once they become rich they want to become like us and start speaking like us, using --ish(aaisyo, gaisyo) at the end of each verb or proverb. Like any rich black people who move to the white neighbourhood...... So you guys keep making fun of the Janaiwala's but at the end you want to be like them.....
You guys running after Gagan Thapa, look at his face he is a chettri, prachanda and baburam are bahun, Girija is bahun, makuney is bahun, king is chettri,....except a few neta's everyone is chettri or bahun....... it is just the system that will change, not the people who run it. I feel pity on you people for dissing one caste, but I guess it is a lovehate relationship.

To whom it may concern,
Since you are so proud in being a bahun(which i respect) and have cited innumerable examples of the high profile positions the janai wearing bahuns have .. u must also keep in mind that our country's present situation is also their fault(coz they are the leaders, aren't they?).If they have the power, then they should be responsible enough to take the lead.I am not aiming to hurt any caste,creed, any ethnic community nor should this be taken as a personal attack but THEY have proven themselves to be only power hungry people and have proven nothing better than that.
And janai purnima is celebrated by all , even in india and if i am not mistaken , it is the day when rakhi is tied around a brother's wrist.This is totally a Hindu ritual and should not be deemed as a brahmin/chettri thing. Some people can only be literate and never educated.. maybe you fall into that category.Grow up and broaden your horizon.. there's much to life, and much more to contribute to one's nation than just portraying oneself to be superior (by hook or crook).Give credit to the ones who deserve but don't demean the others either.
Do not let Religion ,Ritual and Traditions create a barrier between countrymen.Rather enjoy and learn ...

I am a Brahman and no one else is much prouder than me of being born in such civilized and previliged cast. But please just don't disgrace you and your people by claiming a festival only for you. Getting united is good, but not under the name of a festival. It isolates people from other caste from the main stream hinduism, which is the religion your forefathers created.

And by the way, we should not start this casteism or racism before other people do. We are already on top. Don't let yourself down, men.
