Koirala against collective 2nd generation new leadership:

KATHMANDU, Aug 23 - Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala is unlikely to accept the proposal of several second-generation leaders to hold elections for all the key posts in the party to pave the way for collective leadership.
Koirala, through his close aides, has informed the second-generation leaders including Ram Chandra Poudel that he is unwilling to accept their proposal.

Koirala aides said collective leadership would be counter-productive for the party. "It leads to formation of different power centers and ultimately promotes groupism in the party," said Laxman Ghimire, a NC Central Working Committee member and confidante of Koirala.

The second-generation leaders held a meeting on Monday to discuss the issue after Koirala's rejection of their proposal. Some of the leaders suggested that they should collectively challenge Koirala in the upcoming general convention of the party.

However, the meeting ended without any conclusion. (snn)

Great leaders are those who groom and mentor others to lead the organization after them. This ensures continuity of the organziation and its ideals. Girija Koirala has obviously missed several chances to be such a leader.

Now I think its time for these so called honest if they really are to stand against Girija and all the other corrupt leaders. Get away from them. Then lead the movement.

The way things are going, I see more violence and small fractions. Already there are new fractions in the name of vigilence groups. In the same way thre are different fractions in maoists. IF the govt struck deal with maoists too, I see these groups coming up in violent way.

We really need good leaders. Thats why I was saying if Gagan really wanna lead the nation he has to change some of his ways. Threating campus chiefs, forced closures are not the way go about. It will have negative impacts rather than positve. Rest all you wise people decide.
