~ I know there are lots of ppl in and around San Francisco peninsula. Some of them are regular visitors of Sajha too. But I am surprised why they are not responding. May be all of them are busy??????? I am like 3 hour (driving) away from SFO. If you need any help from me, then you can contact me. Cheers,

You may choose to live in downtown Sanfransisco, south Sanfransisco or Daily city area. It is not advisable to live in and around Oakland side since you will be paying bridge toll every day when you drive to work. You can even live in and around San Mateo or San Carlos area if you like to drive 15-20 miles to work everyday during rush hour traffic. You may find apartments slightly cheaper there as compared to Sanfransisco though. By the way, i used to live in Bay area some time ago but now i live about 600 miles north from Sanfransisco. Enjoy your stay at Sanfransisco.

hey there... thank you for your advise. I am hoping you could advise me a little bit more on this matter. I have two possible places that I may be transferred to - Colma or San Francisco City itself. I understand that these areas are not too far apart from each other, however rent in both places seem pretty high to me. I have been to San Francisco for a few days before and am therefore aware of the congested traffic there. I will take your advise and look for apartments around San Mateo etc. and will avoid Oakland altogether. I was wondering whether you knew of any websites I could browse with apartment listings from these suggested areas. I have browsed the regular Craigslist.com and Rent.com websites. Your advise in this matter is very much appreciated.

For finding apartments or anything else, my all time favorite site is craigslist.com. However, I used rent.com when i moved last time. I don't have much idea about any other sites. You can go upto Redwood city to find the apartment if you have to. Good luck with apartment hunting.
