Agreement to unify Maoist and Nepal army Kathmandu , 15 August: The Maoist and the government signed a five-point agreement to assure their commitment towards peace process and unification of Nepal and Maoist army, writes Dibya Darshan weekly. The idea of signing the following agreement was suggested by the Indian Ambassador Shivashankar Mukherjee. The people of Nepal therefore are disappointed with their political leaders for swaying along with the influence of Indian political leaders. Similarly, PM Girija Prasad Koirala and Maoist Supremo Prachanda have together sent letter to the UN for monitoring the weapons of both Maoist and Nepal army during the election period of constituent assembly. How many military men will be in Nepal from now on? Is that number necessary for the Nepal`s border security? What about the Armed police force? Total number of military and armed police force should be less than 50,000, I think. Nepal was most peaceful in the late 80`s when she had less than 40,000 army and considerable number of police force. I still remember when a masked men stabbed someone in KTM, there was a big news all over the country and all city dwellers used to shut their doors after 7 PM. Now, people read killings as " eh marechha hai, marechhan hai, eh 20 jana marechhan" then forget what about it the other day. Life is just going hell in Nepal... We want social security and peace!! That`s it. Who ever be military, whoever be police..just give us the guarantee of social security and peace! Girije...!!!
