I am planning to hire a lawyer for employment based Green Card. The Indian lawyer in my locality is a kind expensive. I found another lawyer whose fee is almost half of in my locality. But that lawyer is at almost at 3 hrs. driving distance from my place (same state). So my concern is how much it will affect on process. How frequently is it required to meet lawyer during the process. Is there chance that the lawyer can not give proper advice on advertsiment on papers etc....because of unfamilirity of location?
Do you advise to hire a lawyer at such distance??

If you are in NY you can hire CA lawyer to file a case.

You dont' have to travel for the process. Everything can be done electronically these days..

How much does the lawyer ask for? And you can choose the cheapest lawyer if youy like too, but be careful of future consequences due to cases handled improperly.

Adjustment of Status is not abig deal. U can even do it on ur own.
Secondly, I am associated with houston's biggest Immigration Law Firm, we charge only $750.00 for I-140 and $750.00 for I-485. If ur quote exceeds that, u r being cheated.
I never heard charge per RFE, thats disgusting.
Thats why lawyers are for. Revolving rates are only for deportation cases.

My experience is hire a lawyer locally available. It will help you better in communication. I have seen it is difficult to deal with Lawyers at distance. Do not go for couple of hundred bucks.
