I was just wondering what could be different ways to get student loan in US for an international student. The reason behind this curioisity is I want to concentrate more on my studies during the last two semesters. I just want to work enough to make sure that I have enough money for food and rent. All the ideas and suggestions are welcome from the bottom of my heart...aakanshyaa...

aakanshyaa, there are several schools shich provide their international students some loans. Check with you school. Mine used to give that. Also, for everything else there is always mastercard (or visa) :-) Get credit cards and pay them off later.

Ankanshyaa and All others have you ever tried exploring scholarships? U will be amazed that millions of dollars for scholarships go to waste cause no body applies for those. There can be Scholarship like" to son's and daughter of Sherpa" " for anyone from southasia" All you have to do is go to your school's scholarship office .find out what scholarship u qualify for one. Granted that these are in amount range from $500-$1000 and you might have to write an essay or letter..BUT IT IS FREE MONEY!!!!

Dear Akanshyaa, These are not schorship funded by school:) These are personal scholarship. You have to do bit research .Checks comes to you and not thru the school. You have to just prove you are student in this university. These scholarship are for students for University some may have restriction some may not.It is your luck. Hey ..that is just my suggestion..you do what you think is best .

Dear aakanshyaa, Do you have a co-signer (one who is willing to co-sign a loan)? The co-signer has to be a US resident with good credit standing. As a last resort you could always apply for student loan from citibank (or other companies...there are so many of them). This is what I did when I was in college, and now I am slowly repaying them. The interest loan on these are also much much lower that credit cards. And you don't have to start paying them off until 6 months after you graduate. Hope this helps! Good Luck!

Indreni 123 do i need a co-signer to apply a student loan from citibank or any other similar source? And I do not have any co0signer as well..i HAVe to do everything on my own..so i think co-signer option would not be any good for me...anyways your info did help me alot...thank you so much...aakanshyaa...

Guys.. There is a company called ACCESS Group. They give you loan based on Credit Score even if you are international student. I think you need to have a credit history for 3 years.

U welcome I will suggest you to apply for student loan rather than paying high interest on credit card. Unless you can get a credit card which has 0% APR for a year.
