My answer is a bit in the grey area. It all depends on your INTENTION behind following a certain religion. People can find spiritual liberation though religion or they can kill in the name of religion. It all depends on your intention. However, I dislike the "collective" or "cultural" aspect of religion where people identify their place in society or culture via god/religion. And I dont know if its "necessary" but I think life can be a tad more satisfying if you are in touch with your spiritual side and if religion can bring that out in you, maybe it doesnt hurt to follow one, as long as you dont get caught up collectivism.

I agree with you justifyURexistence. It does not hurt to follow a religion as long as you don't go killing in the name of religion. Following a religion does indeed provide a satisfying living. But is it necessary? Can't a person have a satisfying meaningful life without a religion? What did you vote?
