President Dr Ram Baran Yadav on Wednesday stressed the need to take
immediate measures to stop the outflow of highly educated and talented
people to foreign countries if Nepal is to achieve its development
goals.

at an award function organised on the occasion of International
Literacy Day to felicitate students who have achieved distinction in
various academic fields, President Yadav urged the youths to devote
themselves to the honourable task of nation-building.
He said
highly-capable and skilled individuals who have received high level
education need to stay in the country and contribute towards the
development of the country.
President Yadav also laid importance
to improvement in the schools infrastructures and curriculum and
introduction of more vocational subjects to boost the literacy rate of
the country.
Also speaking at the programme, Minister for
Education Sarvendra Nath Shukla said the government is committed
towards the development of the education sector.
At the
function, President Yadav honored 152 individuals who received
doctorate degrees from various national and foreign universities with
Nepal Bidhya Bhusan 'Ka' award.
Similarly, some 59 students who
topped in various subjects in the Masters' level and 17 students who
topped in the bachlelors' level of Tribhuvan University were
felicitated with Nepal Bidhya Bhusan 'Kha' and Nepal Bidhya Bhusan 'Ga'
