I meant the words, not the social context of the words.


We know there is no more classification like this.

In my opinion, 'thar' is familyname or lastname and 'jaat' means class or cast (a kind of hierarchy).

TAR means wire.
Jhat means pubic hair or quick...I think.

We do not know in what contest he is asking these word.
तर  ( if he means it ) = but ,  तार  = wire
झट, झटट  ( if he means this ) = immediately. झाट = pubic hair

I am assuming that u just got ur private area shaved and yeah it fells like"taar" for few weeks. But eventually it's gonna grow into "jhat" .... Take it easy

Bill,

Jaat means caste.  Thar means sub-caste.  

There are many Jaats in Nepal.  Each of those Jaats has many Thars.  People use either Jaat or Thar as their last names.

Jaat does NOT mean class as someone above mentioned.
