Dear Friends
I'll be taking a few day trip to Colorado next week. No, I'm NOT looking for a place to stay at your house, I'm NOT looking for you to feed me either. It's on my top list to relocate sometime in the future. I've done my research and have spoken extensively with American families originally from Colorado. But leave all that aside, we're still Nepali and I'd like to hear from a Nepali perspective. I know there are lots of Nepali there.  Show me some love....Email me if you want to.
What's the best place to eat some good ol Nepali food? I'll be interested to visit as many as I can.
What is the demographic of Nepali population with professional, students and workers etc etc?
Where do most prefer to live?
Any big industry that attracts our fellow countrymen?

Rest of my trip is already planned. Info about mountains, scenic views, national parks, lakes are NOT necessary. I've got it covered.

Thank you.

Thanks Geo Tiger Ji, much appreciated.
I'll be there just under a week, so I don't think I can participate in festival activities. I heard Boulder is bit expensive. It looks like it's just like anywhere in the US where our fellow people are working in similar jobs. Good to know.
Gooling gives me these options with regards to Nepali food.

http://gurkhasrestaurant.com (Boulder)
http://www.sherpaascent.com/restaurant.htm(Boulder)
http://www.nepalidining.com (Nedeland)
http://www.everesttibetimports.com/restaurant.html (Colorado Spring)
Little Nepal (Colorado Spring)

It would be nice to know which has a tastier food., probably missing some other locations???

Little Nepal was a good place to dine at. Been there once during my road trip. I recommend that.

Vhootee ji,

I've been in Colorado for past 15 years. I've lived in Boulder the whole time with my family.
I believe there are atleast close to 8,000 Nepalese living in Colorado. Majority of them live in Denver, Boulder, Longmont, Broomfield, Westminster, Aurora. There are major student population in Colorado Springs and Pueblo because the tuition fee is less expensive. Lots of people, specially student work at gas station/restaurants/liquor stores. There are many people who work at manifacturing companies. Lots of people working at stores like Target/King Soopers as cashiers. Boulder is bit expensive compare to other cities. City tax in Boulder is much higher then Denver and surrounding areas. Denver downtown is pretty expensive too but you could get decent room for less prices in Westminster, Broomfield, Aurora, Englewood.

Kathmandu Restaurant in Nederland has pretty good food, they have buffett for Lunch. http://www.nepalidining.com/
Himalaya in Boulder Downtown has really good food too. I believe they have dinner buffett as well as lunch buffett. http://www.himalayasrestaurant.com/

Well enjoy your trip and let us know how you like Colroado

hello and welcome to Colorado, however i am little suprised to know why you are intersted to know where Nepali people work for , for your short visit unless you're going to conduct a survey or thinking abotu starting some sort of Nepali union which is already more than you can count  in Co. I am sure whichever state you are in there are Nepalis working in gasstation, motels, hoteles , students working for indians , fake asylees , dv winners working 2 jobs etc and Colorado is no different on that sense. if you really need to know then in Colorado , mostly in boulder area there are some rich white old folks so most Nepalis work as CNAs or just care takers and make good money too. I have realized that there are very few white collar job holders in colorado, and most of them move out of the state in few years. Schools are overly expensive unless like Rekha said in pueblo which is still around 7000 a sememster. Boulder is overrated and pricey, for nothing. Enjoy estes park and aspen and vail , royal gorge , red rocks, pearl street boulder, nederland etc, make sure to bring your gps , it's amzing in Co, in few hours you can be in mountains and back in the valley to party at night.

if you are looking for a good Nepali restaurant here is one for you, most Nepali restaurants are pathetic copy cats of Indian restaurants around here. this is the best and most authentic i have found in the area:
