Read recently about King G being the mayor of Kathmandu, and how King only exerts power in the capital.
The thing that people should not forget is that when we had the so called democracy, it was the democratic government that lost the power in most part of Nepal. The conditions were deteriorating to a point where the government would have even lost its power in the Capital. Then a complete anarchy would have ensued with the Maoists in power.
If King G. had not taken over when he did, it wouldn't have been long before the Maoists took advantage of the personal agendas of the politicians and usurped power in Kathmandu as well. After King G's move, now the Capital is stable. It is in a condition to exert its powers outside too. Slowly but surely.
