KATHMANDU, Jan 4 - Three young people from Nepal died after a two-car crash in southern Minnesota on state Highway 4 south of St. James on Monday, the AP reported Tuesday.
Those killed were identified as Utshav Basnet, 19, Nishma Timilsina, 20, and Bedija Kharel, 20.
The three were passengers in a car that tried to make a U-turn from the right shoulder of the road and was hit by another car Tuesday, the AP reported quoting the State Patrol in Mankato.
Basnet and Kharel were current students, while Timilsina was enrolled at the Marshall school last spring but was not a current student, said Jim Tate, spokesman of Southwest Minnesota State.
Three other people were hospitalized after Monday's crash. (dds)
