Hello Everyone,

I am new to sajha.com, and came to know that nepali guys and gals out here are helpful. So I am trying to get some help from evryone logged in sajha.

I am a Opt student currently, been approved for my H1B, I am planning to go to Canada for my Visa Stamp on Oct as I wanna start my H1B from Oct, So can anyone tell me what should I do to enter Canada, whether should I apply for Candian Visa or they will allow me as a Opt student to enter Canada. And even tell me the documents required to apply for my H1B.'

Everyone help will be appreciated

Are u going to get ur visa stamped because u want to start ur opt from oct? if thats the case then u don't have to get the visa stamped unless u want to go out of united states that is when u could get it stamped before going or u could go to nepal and then get it stamped while comming back. i would highly recommend you to go and get ur visa stamped only after you have atleast a months pay stub .

anyway if u wanna go there yes u will require a visa since u do not have GC or citizenship.
things that u require for h1b are.

here is the site for h1 b stamping
www.path2usa.com/immigration/h1bcorner/h1b_visa.htm

for the canadian visa visit this site.

You need to apply for visa to enter Canada. You can get that from Canadian consulate in US. after you receive Canadian visa go to Canada and apply for US visa with your H1B. You need to take your new I-94 with you to return from Canada. You have to stay until you get US visa in Canada. it may take about a week (Apply to stamping).

Hello Bajeko Sekuwa

You talked about a new I-94, I have a I-94 right now as a student, so what should I do with this current I-94. Should I submit it in the airprt when travelling to canada. As well as when should I apply for canadian visa, if I am planning to change my status from opt to H1B on Oct, should I go before Oct or in Oct.

Your old I-94 will be taken at the US port. you will not have to fill out new I-94 at the port of US when you come back. Do you remember you filled out one in the airplane before entering US. Now you don't have to do that, because you already have one. You can go before October but you will not be allowed to enter USA before 10 days of your H1B validation (means before Sept 21), Like 30 days in case of F1 visa.

Hi Enigma,

Why do we need to have paystub for stamping H1-B visa? Isn't it sufficient to have job offer letter?
