Hi all, I am thinking of buying an A4 Audi (used). I am a bit worried about the expenses (timing belts, insurance etc), since I am going to school. I feel these things could be way higher than for a Honda or Toyota. I have found a good deal and am confused if I should rather buy an Accord or Camry. If anyone has an Audi and knows about the expenses then plese let me know Much appeciated.

If you are a student I strongly recommend you to get one of the following: Honda Civic Honda Accord Toyota Corolla Toyota Camry Nissan Altima You may get a good deal with Audi/BMW but your maintenance could be really high compared to the cars listed above. Simple thing as oil change, brake change could cost you a lot, unless if you can do all those things by yourself.

although it has that sporty look eclipse is not a reliable car. btw, if u r buying high end used car. then u will b better off buying maintenance plan that costs like 3000 extra but it covers everything from wiper blade to transmission. i would suggest that u take that as well.. its worth it. but one more thing to note is that the plan covers all the wearable parts .. . ======================================================= as always what do i knoe (O:

Since you're going to school and buying 98-99 Audi, then forget it, it'll cost a lot of maintenance, dude finish the school and there are lot of beautiful things after, I used to drive, 94 Mazda Protege while in school, now I drive a VW Touareg 2006 and still do not feel a financial burden........

My experience... If you have money to buy a new european car, go for it. European cars are better than other if money does not count. If you are going for used cars avoid european cars.

I have an A6 for past couple of years. When I first saw it, I loved its interior. No comparison with the BMW or the Mercedese. The car drives smooth, has a wonderful handling, and as a driver one does feel driving a really a high-end car. But as the saying goes, you pay what you get. When it comes to regular maintenance, oil changes, etc Audi (and other European cars) can and will hole your pocket (unless, money is not an issue here ). The labor cost, the parts, and anything else with Audi is an expensive deal. You can buy the extra warranty, but these generally covers electrical and mechanical problems, and not your regular maintenance. Go for a Japanese ( or Korean) ..you be better off. Hope this helps.

i am not talking about "EXTENDED WARRENTY PLAN" ... its MAINTENANCE PLAN. it covers all the "MAINTENANCE" including WIPER BLADES.
