Experts say that more 60,000 people will die and more that 1 lakh will be homeless if same thing happens again in Kathmandu.

Loved to see the antique Kathmandu. The earthquake really buried and destroyed our history.
Good Job Marconi

really great images Marconi.. thanks for sharing.. I shudder with fear at the very thoughts of another big earthquake in kathmandu... a question - what was the scale and duration of the 90 saals earthquake?

Thanks world_map for the info.. Does anyone know the duration of 90 saal earthquake? There is a nice article on Nepali times about "the earthquake". The copy and paste was gibberish. If you would like to read, http://www.thdl.org/texts/reprints/nepali_times/Nepali_Times_025.pdf One thing is certain, everyone knows about the possible scenario and consequences of a big one but not much have been done.

yacc, despite my efforts to find the exact time on the internet, I couldn't find it. But according to hearsay, I think it was 1.5 minutes. (my grandparents used say)

Thanks world_map.. I too tried to find the exact time but couldn't.. 1.5 minutes is a long long time for a 8.4 scale.. I remember waking up to 5-10 seconds mild shakes and someone shouting "Bhuichalooo" in the neighborhood...
