prediciton for the baseball 06 season: 2005 American League EAST 1 NY Yankees - they should get by regular season with the offense; revamped bullpen 2 Boston - great tandem of Ramirez & Ortiz; infielders? like signing of lowell; closer(s)?? 2 Toronto - great off season signing, will paying too much get you wins? 4 Baltimore - outfielders? Roberts is one year wonder 5 Tampa Bay - great group of youngster but not enuf to compete with heavyweights CENTRAL 1 Chicago Sox - champ roster is stronger than last year, Vazquez and Thome should help 2 Cleveland - players should play harder withthe team commitment to young players 3 Detroit - how healthy is Magglio? suspect pitching 4 Minnesota - no major signing; pitchign is still strong 5 Kansas City - worst team in baseball? WEST 1 Oakland - best rotation in AL? great infielders, big name signing should help offense 2 LA Angels of Anahiem - good pitching but how about offense? Vlad need help 3 Texas - offense is good how about the pitching? 4 Seattle - woeful pitching staff, not enuf players to contend in the best divison, good pick up - Washburn, Jojima Most Valuable Player - Alex Rodriguez, NY Yankees Cy Young - Rich Harden, Oakland A's Most Improved Player - Mike Lowell, Boston Red Sox Rookie of the Year - Kenji Jojima, Seattle Mariners Sleeper team - Texas Rangers

2005 National League EAST 1 NY Mets - Great offseason, new closer, catcher & 1st baseman 2 Atlanta - their NL East reign is over, gotta give credit to Mets, their system STILL works 3 Philadelphia - no big signing; you let go superstar closer and 1st Baseman, good OFs 4 Washington - getting fonso to play LF was not a good idea 5 Florida - Minor league??? CENTRAL 1 St. Louis - Still the best team in NL 2 Houston - still got good players; no more clemens and Bagwell 3 Chicago Cubs - depends on the starting rotation, how healthy are they 3 Cincinnati - Is Junior healthy? pitching got better 5 Pittsburgh - being the toughest division is bad 6 Milwaukee - last year was great but it won't be happening this year WEST 1 San Francisco - Barry Bonds. 2 San Diego - good young core players with great veteran OFs, good pitching staff 3 Los Angeles - injury ridden team 3 Arizona - suspect pitching, aging outfielders 5 Colorado - still rebuilding? Most Valuable Player - Albert Pujlos, St Louis Cardinals Cy Young - Jake Peavy, San Diego Padres Most Improved Player - Steve Finely, San Francisco Giants Sleeper team - Cincy Reds

Another Fall Classic and Yankees in it..... AL Central was the most surprising...I was sooooooo wrong about the Twins and here there they are w/o their super rookie Loriano(???) I knew Tigers were going to compete this year. I chose them to be the sleeper team last year and they played great this season with less offense.. their young pitchers are great an it seems Ordonez is finally healthy.... what must be CHISOX skipper Guillen thinking now??? I am sure he won't be running his mouth again this offseason else he will be managing team in Venezuela next year and he won't have a problem with Spanish :) His 2 former superstars (Big Hurt and Ordonez) have played great role with their respective teams I guess Boston and Angels learned the lesson this season. You won't get to to play in October like Yankees even if you try to copy their formula...... here's my prediction: A's over Twins in 4 (if you are a baseball fan, this series is a must, Pitching, Pitching pitching) Yankees over Tigers in 5 (as always Yankees is in the postseason with the suspect arms; they got better lineup than ever, CANO, who finished 3rd in the batting avg is hitting #9 you go figure) Mets over Dodgers in 5 (best team in NL vs hottest team in the NL, how healthy is Nomar?) Padres over Cardinals in 4 (Padrs has the best pitching staff in the NL, who is gonna protect Pujols?) DASHAIN and Yankees Baseball, OCT rocks :=)

SHEF looked like a gold glove ;) I hope all of the Red Sox mgmt & fans are enjoying the playoffs. They can learn few lessons ;) DJ2 for MVP

It's sad to see Both NYC teams are out of the World Series. I really thought Yankees and Mets were going to meet in the World Series. Hopefully both teams will sign/trade good and reliable Starters so they can play each other next year. It's surprising that ONE PLAYER (Pujols) can carry the whole team.... Pujols didn't have great series against the METS and CARDS still won. AL dominance will continue... I pick Tigers to win 5 games. It's not surprsing that TIGERS are playing so great espcially with their Young guns. IROD help to young pitchers is the main reason TIGERS are playing OCTOBER ball.

There's no denying that the Tigers are a more complete team then the Cards... but the fact of the matter is... cards have come a long way... from them almost not making the playoff to the World Series... Pujols does carry the whole team... but this series it was the whole team that came together... both the aces for the cards pujols and carpenter didn't play very well... but the rest of the team came together and how about weaver and suppan... and with ishy out we got great closing form couple of no name pitchers... People have already counted us out but the fact of the matter we, when there's no pressure cards just play ball... the last world series with the red sox... we were expected to win some games but they swept us... it was a young team 2 years later here we are again... i am not predicting the cards are going to win... but i am definitely hoping they will... As far as i know champions come through in the clutch... with all the major injuries in the line up. la russa has managed the team exceptionally well... I hope we win... we deserve it... not to take anything away from the tigers but hey... i am a CARDS fan... After it's all said and done it will be a good series, hard fought... and hopefully pujols, Edmonds and rollen can swing and hopefully carp is back on his game... GO CARDS!
