 Help and suggestions for NRN card

I recently became a US citizen and want to apply for NRN ID. I need to help with these following questions:
1. What is the process? Do I have to relinquish my Nepali nagarikta before I apply for the NRN Card? Or do i send the relinquishment form along with the NRN application?
2. How long will it take to get the NRN card after application?
3. Is a check accepted or money order is the only option?

You don't have to do anything about nagarikta.

It'll take a day at Ministry of foreign affairs. I'd apply for it in Nepal.
