I would like to share my experience shipping from US to Kathmandu last month while it was not any sort of electronics and I used USPS. I shipped a package of all new baby clothes and essentials (~20lbs) for personal use (not business). It took longer than expected even though. Tracking update was once in a 2-4 days though it might be faster if you ship it through dhl/fedex. This was the first time I was shipping and i had no idea what to expect. While declaring on the custom form, I put the value of the items as $100 (even though the value of the goods where ~$500). This might have saved some money for the recipient as the recipient was charged some fee at the Nepal Post Office while picking up the package in Dillibazar whilst the custom clearance was already mentioned in the tracking update. This is the part I did not understand. Custom clearance was mentioned but nepal post office charged fee for package later. As I mentioned earlier, the custom value was declared to be $100 while the nepal post office charged the recipient for $50. The charge was NRs.1800. The post office asked the recipient to open up the whole package to verify if the items were what's written in the invoice. Hope this helps in some sort.

Including cost of Laptop its going to add more variable and unseen cost, which may cost you more sending than buying in Nepal. Have you heard "Hamrobajaar.com", check this site it may be helpful, I have used couple time.
