You might wanna check with your local DMV. Normally, your DL stays valid for additional 30-120 days for driving after the expiration date.

You can travel with your valid passport. Does not matter if visa has expired also (this applies to within USA only)

I am afraid you're wrong SanuG. They do check the date of expiration. An Expired License is legally considered not a valid ID in all 50 states. License's validity and its value expires as soon as it expires. Even proof of birth cannot be legally administered via expired License. I agree with datktmguy, if the Lic is expired, just don't show it. The bar incident that you recount is strange however, I think the bouncer was just hustling. He has no right to keep anything that belonged to you. Riddle is right in that some states (like Iowa) will let you drive with your expired license upto 60 days, but I believe you cannot use it as an ID outside of driving as soon as it expires.

Alina looks like you are SOL!! Why don't you catch a train or Bus to get somewhere, I don't think you have to show ID to buy tickets do you? Kiddo might know the answer...

For some reason, I misread the original question. This should help the OP further.http://www.tsa.gov/contact-us But like someone's already said, as long as you've got a valid passport, you should be good. Bear in mind, visa's validity is irrelevant while traveling within the U.S. unlike a majority of Europe where you're required to carry a passport w/ valid visa at all times.
