According to Embassy of Nepal website, the photo can be 2" * 2" or 35mm * 45 mm.

Did anybody sent 2" * 2" photo for passport renew? I could not find any place to take 35mm * 45mm photo.
And, where can we get the ink pad for fingerprint. Walmart and walgreen didnt had it around here.

Send usual passport size photo (2" X 2") that will work. They will cut to make it whatever size they need.

Me too, they dispatched mine yesterday ! Surprising is my friends name was not on received list (on they poasted on March 15 ) but its on dispatched list (posted on 30 March) !!

Facebook's passport was dispatched on Mar 30, not on feb 20 or mar 24.

My passport was dispatched from Nepal to DC on February 20 and still I have not received it. I checked with some other friends whose passports were dispatched around same time and they have not received either. So, even after the dispatch date, it might take a month to two months for you to get your passport. Jaani rakheko ramro

@punter sorry for late reply. Mine is to NY . and as Ny2 said i have to go and pick up from mission to nepal, they will call me after they receive. I hope it will not take months.

I have also submitted the passport for the renewal. I have asked them to return my old passport because I have some stuff to be done regarding school soon. Weird thing is they returned the passport. Along the passport came the photo with a sticky note 3 Mahina ma puna passport DC pathaunu hola. I sent in the photos again to DC. They kept the application and money order though. Will that create a delay ?? And after getting new MRP do I have to send in the old passport. Just afraid they will loose the passport with my valid VISA. Too much carelessness ! passport is big thing for us ( those we stay out) . Gud luck bro.

@guitarcenter, you might also want to email or call them and let them know about what happened. If they send out your application without the photo to Nepal (not knowing they sent you back your photo), it will be delayed by months as you will get the rejection from Nepal after several months. Contact them to make sure they will include your photo in your application before sending out.
I believe the reason they ask you to send back passport in 3 months is they want to put the "Cancelled" stamp on your old one before mailing you the new one.
