Casey00 bro said "C'mon who likes to go to school if you have couple million waiting for you? You can Hummer, series of BMW's and lot of booty... " >>> tell that to Kwame Brown. He would take his decision back. as I said before, NBA MUST have developmental leagues like other sports. and what you think of all the wheeling and dealing? I think Magic got better after trading TMAC. They got three potential starters for one. Magic lineup PG - Steve Franics SG - Cuttino Mobley SF - Grant Hill/DeShawn Stevenson PF - Drew Gooden/Dwight Howard C - Kelvin Cato Coach K is making a buzz here in la la land, What's their in Toronto? Couldnýt they afford their own prodigy Nash??? I am sure Nash would have loved to play there. I read Air Canada wants outta there, is that true?

DWI, It would be great if the Knicks get these versatile players. Hoping for this great change in the Knicks. I haven't been following the Heat team for about last few years since Zo's gone. How will Shaq make difference in that team if they trade Grant and Odom. I know, Shaq's still the dominant center in NBA; he will rule the eastern conference. I think it's time for Shaq to be the role model for raising stars like Wade. Shaq can still make a big impact in east and compete for the champiahship, but I doubt it they would win any champianship. Now, this trade can be very good for KG and Tim Duncan...

With the line up Lakers will have next season after they trade shaq to maimi, i even doubt they will make it to the playoffs. Right, playoffs!!! . Kobe is sure the best thing after Jordan and his skills and potential are parallel to none. But one should not forget that he was a total flop in the biggest stage. And has any player in the history of any team sports have had so much influence on the team and organization itself than kobe? Just look at this list........ He doesnt like the most sucessfull coach.......the team puts him away. He doesnt want to play along with the Most Dominant......he gets traded(almost certian). He wants coach of his choice.....Lakers put $40 mil on the table to lure coach K. He even wants Clippers to play some 10-14 games on Anahiem even before he considers to sign with them........Reports are Clippers agree. What else??? Thats ridiculous. I am just waiting to see how he's gonna perform when arrangements are made to play the way he wanted on HIS TEAM.

K_Loaded bro I have to disagree with you. Itýs nothing wrong what Kobe is asking or doing. You and I would have done the same thing. His Airness ran out the Doug Collins, Magic Johnson did the same thing to Paul Westhead(?) and mediocre JKIDD did the same to Byron Scott earlier this year. So I have no sympathy for Zen master, he deserved it. He tried to put down Kobe when he had chances and called many times that it was Shaq team, Kobe is just doing his thing now. Letýs not forget the NBA Logoman was booted out the Lakers by the same Zen Master. About Shaq, he is past his prime. The best thing he can do is look at Showtime Lakers. He should let Kobe run the show like Kareem did to Magic. Shaq was foolish to ask for a contract extension when he had 2 years near $60 Mil contract. Letýs not forget this is the same guy who had a problem with Penny, Brian Hill and Del Harris. He is a malcontent and he will forever be. I would like Kobe to sign with Clippers and move to new arena so they can show the world that the Lakers are not the most favorite team in LA anymore. It was interesting though Kobe met Lakers and Clipper officials in the hotel. I hope no one will come out with rape accusation this time around. :)

DWI, the players you named are far better than what Knicks have right now in those positions. My question to you is does Knicks (way over luxury tax) good enough players to get those players you mentioned? I will be a fool to trade with overpaid Knicks players. I think only tradable commodity in Knickerbockers land is Othella Harrington with his size and unquestionable work ethic. And may be backup PG frank Williams, he is the only active player under $1 mil. next year salary (roughly) for knickerbockers Houston - over $17.5 mil Marbury - over $14 mil Penny - over $14 mil Tim Thomas - $12 mil S. Anderson - over $7 mil K. Thomas ý over $5 mil Moochie ý over $3.5 I think Knicks are 2-3 years away from being a good playoff team. Heavy loaded contracts will expire after 06/07 seasons. DWI, if you were another team GM would you take any of the above players for their price?

U're not wrong AX, but would you have trusted the rumors last year that Marbury was coming to NY? It was hard to believe but it happened. Anything can happen. Above mentioned trades can take place or a completely new trades can come to the plate. A 3 way trade makes it easier but there still is a possibility that a direct trade with Chicago is in the works: Chicago trades: Crawford, Jerome Williams, Eddie Robinson NY trades: Anderson, Moochie, Othella and Frank Williams. most of whose contract will expire next year (Moochie is a tough sell here). Also, Cleveland trades: Big Z NY trades: Kurt Thomas and Nazr Mohammad. Remember Kurt Thomas has lots of options in his contract. If he leaves NY his salary can go up. Anything is possible. Expect some trade soon.

DWI, I agree. Nobody thought it was feasible but letýs not forget Marbury is to make about $14 mil this year and 16 next years and 18, 20 and 21 mil after that ($100 mil in total). And letýs also not forget Knicks is paying for overpriced Penny too. He costs more than $30 mil for another 2 years. If they had not made the trade with Phoenix they would be able to afford Kobe ($11-13 mil to play with). And we all know how much Kobe wanted to play in the Mecca of NBA. Looking at back, I think Isiah made a mistake acquiring Marbury. The latter trade you said sounds little better. You also have to add another 3 mil player to get the Z. He is to make $14 mil this year. And you will trade your 2 starters for 1 injury prone player? About the Bulls player, Jamaal is a restricted free agent and he will demand lots of money and long contract. Will you pay around $7 mil for a backup Guard? With your trade NYers have to dig more into their pocket. I am not so optimistic about it. But what I can is the best city in the world deserves better ballplayers and team(s). can they learn from Mr. Boss and the Yankees? NYC is still the Yankees town :) sorry to drag Yankees here

Ax, You cannot brand that trade to be a bad one. No way. First off, you gotta take what is one the horizon. Kobe was a future. Heck Layden even passed on Webber to give Houston the notorious contract. A bird in hand is better than two in the bushes. Second, Lakers can offer Kobe about 134 million (Clippers about 84 mill under the current salary cap). Knicks couldn't match it either way. And if Kobe would have taken a cut to play in the Big Apple, then he can still do it. The Nike ad can equate the offer from other club alone. I am just defending the marbury trade here. What u said about NY being Yankee town, I agree. Heck, I'd hope they didn't have salary cap as in Baseball. Imagine we'd have Shaq, Kobe, Marbury/Kidd, Garnett/Oneal/Duncan whatever all playing for one team. I won't give up Marbury/Thomas for Vince-ible Carter. He is too injury prone and he is a one man show. I like the first trade though, but very unlikely.

Shaq going to Miami, where's Kobe going? The Big Diesel has gone coast to coast. The Lakers and Heat finalized a trade Wednesday sending Shaquille O'Neal to Miami, with Los Angeles getting Caron Butler, Lamar Odom, Brian Grant and a first-round draft pick in return. MORE ON LAKERS ... The 'big mistake' The foolishness of trading Shaq can't be underestimated. Stories ý Rosen: Lakers are finished ý Clippers furiously clearing cap room ý MJ joining Shaq in Miami? ý Next move is up to Kobe ý Shaq deal sure is interesting ý Tomjanovich hopes to coach Kobe ý Rosen: Rudy, Kobe won't win Video ý I,Max on Kobe's demands ý I,Max on Shaq deal The deal, ending O'Neal's eight-year tenure in Los Angeles, had been on the verge of completion since Saturday, when O'Neal met in Orlando with Heat president Pat Riley and agreed to the trade. NBA attorneys approved it on the same day the league's two-week moratorium on player movement ended. Acquiring O'Neal is literally a big deal for the Heat, who will count on the 7-foot-1, 340-pound center to transform them into a championship contender. "I never imagined that we would acquire Shaquille O'Neal," guard Eddie Jones said. "It's once-in-a-lifetime trying to get a player like this guy. It's an unbelievable, unbelievable move." At 32, O'Neal is coming off a season when he averaged a career-low 21.5 points, and he has missed 15 games each of the past three seasons with foot and leg injuries. But he's an 11-time All-Star with career averages of 27.1 points, 12.1 rebounds and 2.6 blocks, and he changes the balance of power in the Eastern Conference, where there's a dearth of dominating centers. The trade marks a return to Florida for O'Neal, who began his NBA career in 1992 with Orlando and still has a home there. He led the Magic to the finals in 1995, signed with the Lakers as a free agent in 1996 and helped them win three NBA titles. Days after the Lakers lost this year's championship series to Detroit, O'Neal demanded to be traded, weary of feuding with Kobe Bryant and feeling disrespected by owner Jerry Buss. He's under contract for $27.7 million this coming season and $30.6 million in 2005-06. O'Neal joins a Heat team that has reached the conference finals only once in its 16-year history and went 42-40 last season, instantly becoming South Florida's most high-profile athlete. With the departure of three starters, Riley will build his team around O'Neal, Olympian Dwyane Wade and Jones, Miami's leading scorer each of the last four seasons. The Heat will now shop for help at both forward positions and backup point guard, and free agents will likely consider Miami a more appealing option with the addition of O'Neal. "Everybody wants to be here now," said Jones, who played with O'Neal in Los Angeles from 1996 to 1998. Each player involved in the trade must pass a physical before joining his new team. O'Neal is not expected to speak publicly until at least Friday, the Heat said. O'Neal has already made an impact in Miami, with the Heat's ticket sales brisk this week. He's moving from one city enthralled by celebrities to another, but there are a lot more of them in Los Angeles than in Miami, and O'Neal is likely to become the biggest thing on South Beach. "There's a lot of excitement going around in the city," Heat guard Rasual Butler said. "They call Shaquille O'Neal 'Big Daddy' for a reason - because everything he does is big. And it's big news that he's coming here."

This was the perfect deal both in perspectives of lakers and heat. yah! Lakers might have lost the most dominant player in their history, but lakers still look in good shape. i) The feud between kobe and shaq has ended once and for all. ii) Kobe gets his dream scenario to win championship without ShAQ iii) payton's game gets revitalized. iii) Odom has the most complete game next to garnett. iv) Grant though aging is still a force at defense and rebounding. v) our own Connecticut's boy is a pure shooter--err he's getting up there. vi) We don't have to rue about shaq's free throw nomore. v) rush & walton will provide spark from the bench :) Showtime lakers is back :).

Oys...first disagreement with ya. he he... i think Kobe will not be any more effective than what he already is...more chances that his numbers will go down as history has proved with all the guards who played along side tha Diesel and then without him like penny and others. yeah...kobe is way better than that but anyway it is not easy to replace the SHAQ's 20/10 per game... no way Odom/Butler/Grant can do that. but the real loss is the intangibles that Shaq brings to a team...the opposition always has to put in two, three defenders on him...without shaq expect Kobe to be double-teamed most of the times...he will not be the same. btw...never compare some guy to tha KID, my main man- KG. hehehe...oys i found out who you are dude...talk to ya later. mG.

NY Post and ESPN reports that NY Knicks are expected to announce the signing of Bulls guard Jamal Crawford and Jerome Williams in return for Mutombo, Moochie Norris and Cezary Trybanski and cash (3 mill). Knicks will remain in persuit of Center Eric Dampier. Ax, what did I tell you? Anything was possible. Okay okay, I will wait till it gets announced.

DWI bro, I don't know what to be happy about this trade. I wonder why Knicks getting a SG. Is it means Knicks doesn't trust in H2O? and junkyard dog??? he is a 5 mins guy. I would have been happier if they get player like Tonie or Rahim kinda players. If knick were to get Eric Dampier, he would improve Knicks significantly but what price? I don't like long term deal with him. If he were to sign big term deal, Knicks won't have any chances landing Big Yao ming in 07 season. The players they should move are Tim thomas and Shandon Anderson, they make more than $20 mil combined this year. I think Knicks will do better this year with the players they have now in their roster. The following starting lineup is good. Marbury - H20 - tim thomas - kurt thomas - nazr mohammed They are a playoff team for sure. I see them only be contending for championship after 05-06 season when most of the expensive players (tim thomas, penny) contract expires

AX, now that the sigining is official, I can talk more about it. Indeed, Crawfords signing doesn't make us a complete team. But it does give Lenny a lot of tinkerings to try with. Besides we will now have a solid backup ready, incase TT or Houston go down like last year. He is not best to replace TT but he can play Point Guard for Marbury too. Our bench would be one of the best in NBA, with Penny, Crawford, Baker, Sweetney and Junkyard Dog Williams. Even without this signing, Knicks will be about 10 millions above the Cap, thus won't be freely (note freely) able to sign Yao Ming. Besides, Yao doesn't like pressure and Houston is enough pressure for him. I doubt he'd leave Houston. Also, with the way Isiah been signing these free agenets, who says he cannot make a deal to get Yao if he seriously wants him. Houston's contract expires on 06/07 season and Crawford would be the perfect replacement then. Season 07/08 we will be under salary cap by about 10 million and we can sign anybody (we will still have Marbury, KT, Sweetney etc). I think that is Isiah's grand plan. We haven't had a total makeover, but the team sure has gotten better. We should be a consistent force in the East; besides very good words are coming for Sweetney and Ariza. I think Sweetney's gonna shine this year.
