yeah.. I am inToronto.... life is rolling here.... too many associations here too. Looks liek everywhere nepalese have same same problems.

As I heard, in Calgary Limbus are the ones who divided people. One of my bahun friend there is saying so... he is saying limbus are disrespecting bahuns these days re, ani limbus want to chase bahuns out fo their associations re, Ke ho?

Why not bahuns make their own association.... the inferior complexity is always there... afterall dashain ta mannai paryo ni kaso?

There is nothing like casts and racism, prem dai. For instance, I myself am a Bahun and I am enjoying immensely the warmth of our ex-Gurkha bros and their families. Its the so-called "tatha-baatha" losers who are whining with things like "limbu groups" and so on. For sure, the majority of folks (of Nepalese origin) are Limbus and they are the ones who have preserved all our folk culture and arts and alike. We proudly owe to them for the cultural heritage we have been able to be proud of. And they have indeed demonstrated that they can lead an organization, they are no less of a capable leadership !!!

I was in Alberta in the summer of 2003 on an expedition from UK. A few of the blokes (Nepalis) from my group used the break allowed at the end of the exp, to go and visit their relatives who had settled down in and around Calgary. After the closure of the break and once all back to the base, they regaled me with inspiring stories - about how Nepalis had adapted to the Canadian way of life and how they were faring and all the rest of it. Especially heartening to know was the advancements their children had made in their studies, many had won scholarships to universities in Edmonton and elsewhere. Yes, the majority of Nepalis, I was told, were ex-Gurkhas, inlcuding a family that I later learnt, my uncle knew from his Singapore days. One very good thing that they came away with from their time in Calgary was the ready impression of unity that existed between Nepalis there irrespective of caste or ethnic background. And I am delighted to learn from your post above that this close-knitness that my friends observed then, still does and will hopefully exist always. There is then always bound to be those with petty grievances - the disaffected bunch - who tend to seek opportunities to create division. And that's life.

So, yes I regret choosing not to visit Calgary; drove around the alpine towns instead - Banff, Jasper etc. Plenty of time exploring the delights of the Rockies. Awesome scenery.

On a passing note, I've enjoyed reading your posts in Sajha for as long as I can remember, though I must admit that my experience with this site has been rather amateurish. Your posts always have that edge of funniness, not least with their customary refrain 'keep rolling'. And they have kept me 'rolling' indeed.

Well, Toronto, as you might know, is place with tough life. Medical pesa ma lagya chha... uhi, batta ma pills fill garne.. degree bhayera ke garne? Kast ksat AIT degree wala haru pani factory ma assembly line jasta karya haru garchhan.... aba ta Alberta jane ho ki jasto lagyachha....

Anyways, you seem to be quite smart guy. I wonder if you are manipulating those limbus in Calgary for your personal gain or at least couple of beers ha ha... It's quite surprising how, being yourself bahun, you highly talk about limbus while my friends, also bahuns, do mention that limbus are nowadays chasing them out of their association in Calgary branding them as dahichuire bahuns re.. They are really hurt. Ki limbu kai chhori udaune ho ki hajoor le?
