Well ,I have done research in geography. llife in australia is better than US. it has been nomianted as one of the best countries to live in behind scandinavia and switzerland . Probably because people in australia get good quality of life in much less amount of money. Yeah there will alwyas be people who will be struggling in every countries be it US or australia . But australia is fantastic place to be in . particulary because of its location and landscape. . my favourite state in australia is Victoria. But south australia, western australia, northen territory, canberra , all are unique and beautiful.

hi newguy007 Most Nepalese in US right now are those who got deported or have had thier visa cancelled in AUSTRALIA. iT WAS easy to get US Tourist visa from Australia so everyone used to have US visa for Back up.So once they get deported or they cannot extend their visa they go to US. No one go to AUS fROM US becasue you guys are too scared to get out of US.This is why mot students never go back home too unitll they get their GC.But I know lot of US graduates migrated to AUS.

People in Nepal(especially students) go to American Embassy to apply for F-1. And if they get rejected, and fortunately succeed in getting it for Australian colleges, they come to Sajha. com to post a thread like this.

USA might be good for green card holders, but for students it is a living hell. a tunnel without an end. let's see, typical 5 years to complete undergrad+ assume he/she gets jobs right away after graduation so, 5 or 6 yrs on h1b+ everything goes okay, company don't lay you off for an Indian+ another 4/5 years for green card( considering the back log, this number is a very good luck) = around 14 yrs to get a green card. Another 5 years so you get citizenship( only if the law doesn't change in the future, they're working hard to change it, not make it available) = 19 yrs, if everything goes ok.. no lay offs, you're darn lucky to have a company sponsor you , first place darn luck to even find one, and you're darn smart. 19 years then you can go to Nepal and get married, a student who came at around 2o will be around 40 that time. haha... then another 10 years if you want to bring your sick , old mom with you. so you'l l be 50.. if your mom was 40 when you left her at your 20, then she'll be 70 when she can join you.... Now i don't know why is US greater place for students... No Nepali students come here just to study, we have colleges in Nepal too, in india also.. Nepali student scome here to immigrate, thats the truth. Looking at the projection done above, Aus is lot better deal.. in about 6 yrs, u look like you can have a PR and bring your wife... .. oh btw, i just heard yesterday from a H1 visa holder that they've stopped green card application of h1s for 2 years.... i hope you guys gonnna live at least 200 years to enjoy the charm of America, looking at this slow pace INS proceedings.... good luck

Aus seems better for Nepali students than the USA. USA is very strict towards students. They do not want students to immigrate. However, Aus is more than egar to take students into their society. It could be because the population of Aus is lot less than the USA. USA has problems of immigrants and not welcoming. In usa it takes forever for students to immigrate, big luck and right tactics , plus lies. Still they can't bring their wives or parents. Aus seems very welcoming. the conclusion is Aus is better for students than America....

here ya go, from anothe thread: Posted on 12-12-06 10:30 AM Reply | Notify Admin ately, there has been a spate of immigrant visa refusals for follow-to-join family members under visa category E3. The consular hands the applicant Form 194 which says the following: This office regrets to inform you that it is unable to issue a visa to you because you have been found ineligible to receive a visa under the following section of the Immigration and Nationality Act: Section 221 (g) which prohibits the issuance of a visa to anyone whose application does not comply with the provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Act or regulations issued pursuant thereto. The following remarks apply in your case: Section 221(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) prohibits a consular officer from issuing a visa to an alien if the consular officer has reason to believe that the alien is ineligible. Based on indications that petition (KDU...........) contains inaccurate information, we are returning it to the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigratino Services (CIS) of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for review and possible revocation. If CIS determines that the information we are providing would provide a sufficient foundation for initiating revocation proceedings, it will send you a notice of intent to revoke that includes a statement of the facts and evidence and you will have the opportunity to respond. Under INA 222(f), which addresses the confidentiality of visa records, we are unable to provide any further detail. While in some cases the applicant isn't given any specific reason for denial, some have been told that the reason was that the Embassy could not verify the employment experience of the petition filer. This is employment experience shown when applying for Labor Certification. Apparently since early 2006 the Embassy has been asking for a copy of ETA 750, the application for labor certification filed with the Department of Labor. It seems the Embassy is denying visas on the basis of suspicion -- that employment experience shown is innacurate. It is not clear what kind of evidence the Embassy requires. In many cases the establishments have closed and it will be difficult to track owners and former employees. The Embassy is not even asking for additional evidence, it is just handing out refusal letters. State Departments guidelines for returning approved immigrant visa petition are given here: http://travel.state.gov/visa/laws/telegrams/telegrams_1415.html http://travel.state.gov/visa/laws/telegrams/telegrams_1388.html http://foia.state.gov/masterdocs/09FAM/0942043PN.PDF The guidelines emphasize that revocation requests must provide solid, factual evidence of fraud or misrepresentation, evidence that is likely to stand up in a court of law, because if the CIS does intend to revoke the petition, the petitioner will litigate. Given that in most cases the Embassy won't be able to produce any solid evidence which cannot be refuted with counter-evidence, it is difficult to understand why it is taking this route. It is unneccesarily creating more hardship for the applicants and petitioners, and prospect of more litigation and work for CIS. If anyone you know is soon applying for an immigrant visa in Nepal, kindly share this information with them. Also, please post your experience, suggestions.
