I think Keanu is a so-so actor and I am not unhappy that he got to do Matrix. My point was, sometimes the movie itself is so full of special effects, story, cinematography, direction....that the actors and acting isnt really that important. Anyone with a clean cut looks and good height (to look good on that black coat) would have been ok for Matrix. There are movies where the actor and character is soooo much a part of what the movie is about, like Russel Crowe in Gladiator, Jude Law in Alfie..you cant imagine anyone else. Don is not one of those movies, and I gave the example of Matrix just to prove my point that acting/actors doesnt always define a movie.

I get your point BG... i'll give u Russel Crowe in Gladiator... maybe mel gibson would have pulled it off a couple of years ago... when he wasn't so "old". as for jude law don't get me wrong he's a decent actor... and it was a good casting call to have him in Alfie but i do believe he's slightly overrated... but again it's hollywood where ur flamboyant english looks come in handy!

bostongirl like many women, you too love srk donchya? hehehe :P..well, i am not complaining. my sis, and my exs all were/are srk's fans so i can understand. i quite like the chap myself...i have watched some of his interviews and everytime, i find him quite fascinating. he is the wittiest actor so to speak in bollywood, a well learned guy, very articulate and a good communicator. i believe he is a good husband and a father as well..so yeah, i admire him on those grounds. as a teenager, i loved his 'ddlj'- easily his best performance so far, if i may claim. but over the years, his acting has been monotonous. same ol' romantic guy who falls in love with women meant for others, sings songs, plays prank games and finally wins their hearts and takes them away from the antagonists. he is really good in romanitc boy's roles, but its been repeating way too many times! secondly, when he plays an action hero, he mimicks AB. i watched the promos of DON, and it gave me the impression that he is trying to be AB himself, even copying the way AB delivered dialogues in the original DON. where is the originality? just because it is realeased in 2006 and shot in exotic locations with latest technical maneuverings does not make it original, if the actors mimick the original actors. he may be the biggest STAR but not a very good ACTOR! Down with DON and SRK! :P LooTe

BostonGir!, since you are recommending 'Don' I will have to watch it now. In fact, I was fantasizing myself watching this movie which is being played at a couple of theatres in the hood. I did not know a 'dudette' like you (if you will) would go for a bollywood movie. But I like one hindi movie out of a thousand. When I watched Amitabh's 'Don' back in the day, I thought it was great until the actual Don dies. You go girl!!! (but where??) Have a nice weekend now. ;P

Loote! How you doing bro? How do you know he is a good husband? LOL. One needs to get testimonial from his wife. The guy went to IIT I think I read it somewhere he is no 'Dumas'. But as the Beatles said 'Gotta be good-looking it's so hard to see'. I find it a lot easier watching AAAmir Khan brother then SRK Brother.(Why brother? because there are so many maniacs out there who love to call each other 'gay'. Hehe). I hear people around me say 'This SRK guy gives me the creeps'. There is so much truth in it. As far as Don goes, for me it's like Halley's Comet's arrival; I think I should at least look up to the sky. Have a good one!

BostonG! forgot to mention and might never get to and still be in perpective. As far as Keanu perfectly fitting the Matrix series, the same thing goes about Jim Carrey suiting the role of'the Mask', who in the whole-wide world can sing, mamba, flex the facials muscles, jump from the car-top to the lamp-post yet make a perfectly swinging landing, without a bruise. If Jim had died mid-stream of the movie production, it would have to be scrapped comepletely coz he is irreplaceable. Not being a nerd here but a simple ordinary fan. HEHEHE;P

Hello there TM...long time no see! Its funny you assumed I wouldnt watch bollywood movies. I do watch them..maybe a dozen a year. Sometimes coz it was reccomended to me or sometimes for old time's sake :-) I never watched the orginal Don, so didnt have anything to compare the new Don to, which I think worked on my favor. Loote, I think you missed my point 'i am NOT a SRK fan' and the whole comparison to matrix was to say that sometimes the guy playing the character is not so important if the movie has enough jazz to keep the audience distracted from the acting..lol. I will give you credit for pointing out that SRK is witty and shall I say, charming? I happened to see him in concert couple of times and was few feet away from him...I was definitely star struck...hehe...I dont think he deserves all those filmfare best actor awards or even put him in the category of good actors...but he is definitely a STAR... Ahem TM! I happened to watch the movie the day it came out, ok..ok...the day AFTER it came out...you think it is still playing? I hope it is, coz I would like you to see it :-)

TM bro, not bad, how about u? hehe...well, i read it somewhere i guess that he is a pretty loyal husband...not too sure...may have to ask his wife hehe bostongirl, hmmm....i got your point. so u mean, the script of the movie is powerful enough eh? i would believe so, coz i have watched the original DON of AB. but more than the script and dialogues, i guess AB"s powerpacked performance shined the movie. not too sure about this one...i know srk can act pretty well as a bad guy...let's see, if i get a chance, i will watch it.... jude law hmmm...must say, u have a weird choice :P....that guy is cute but not MANLY!!! :P...no wonder you love srk :P :P... talking of english actors, how about hugh grant? :P LooTe
