We all Nepali are all just "WANNA BE" I have been watching the Nepali TV and I JUST HATE ONE THING. That they just speak half English and Half Nepali. why the hell don't they either speak pure Nepali or Pure English. Speaking half and half just sounds soooo cheap. And when I am in nepal, I just hate those kids who just shout "Mummy, Mummy" What the hell is wrong with the word "आमा " ? people in Kathmandu are nothing but all just wannabe......

Che calling an African American by the "N" word and see what happens :p NEPALI hip hop is my music too coz I happen to be a Nepali but it just sounds so ridiculous. Have u heard that song "bounce bounce", I didn't even see one singer actually bounce, for 2 secs some people did bounce a ball, but if the song said the bounce word a million times, one would think they would bounce more than 2 secs. Sorry, I just find it funny, hehe.

Thank you all for you nice and not so nice comments. Every one has the right to say what they think and how they feel, and this is what I have done. The matter of the word “AMA†against “Mummyâ€, Let me make one thing clear to you all, that mummy is ‘NOT’ a Nepali word; it is migrated from the west, even though you addressed your mother “Mummy†as far as you can remember. Different parts of the country with different background and cultures have their own way of addressing their mother ie. “AMAâ€, “Muaâ€, “Mamuâ€, “Mai†and so on, but these words are from inside our own borders and are suited to our own cultures. I was born up in the hills and I always address my mother “AMAâ€, and to be honest I feel very proud and different kind of joy to shout “AMA†among those people who are shouting “Mummyâ€. And I will teach my kids to address their mother “AMA†no mater where I am. City people migrated the word “Mummyâ€, to bring their so called class status high. They think that calling “AMA†is very backwards, Pahaade, uneducated Gaule pakhe and low class thing, Not realizing that they actually are neglecting our own culture and decreasing their way of thinking to so low life parasite and sitting high and sucking the blood of those Uneducated Gaule Pakes. This is what is wrong with our society and our country. But let me just stop here in the topic of class, I was talking about Mother, no need to drag her into this, and remember people it is “Nepal AMAâ€, not “Nepal Mummyâ€. The matter of language. Yes language develops by time and generation, but how about developing our own language with our own words, instead of migrating English words in Nepali language, this isn’t called development, if you say that it is then, something is wrong with you. Yes Snoop dogg and afro Americans speaks slang, but they use English slang. I am not saying that we should stop speaking English just because we have an accent; the whole world speaks English with an accent. English is the mother tongue of England, USA was invaded by Europeans from countries, and the common language became English and there came an American accent, so accent is not a problem. Using English words in between Nepali language does not prove you are well educated, that just proves that you are and idiot who can’t even speak your own language properly, and doesn’t even know what it is called in your own language. So just using English words in between does not make you educated and higher class. I respect that person who speaks Nepali without any English word in between, and that person inspires me a lot. If you can’t speak English properly or have an accent so what, We are Nepali and we have our own Mother tongue. (Not Mummy tongue). I also hate those politicians who doesn’t know how to speak English and try to speak English, even I as a Nepali sometime have difficulty understanding their English, and feel shame that such an idiot is representing US to the world. Why the hell don’t they just speak Nepali instead and hire an interpreter, at least one unemployed Nepali will get a job. Beside there are lot of other countries leaders who speak their own language and they have interpreter to translate to English.

I like these Comments of yours Lakhee: --> "Yes language develops by time and generation, but how about developing our own language with our own words, instead of migrating English words in Nepali language, this isn’t called development" --> "Using English words in between Nepali language does not prove you are well educated, that just proves that you are and idiot who can’t even speak your own language properly" -->"just using English words in between does not make you educated and higher class"

I AM IN TROUBLE NOW. I HAVE NOTICED MYSELF TALKING IN ENGLISH WHILE TALKING IN NEPALI GROUP. BUT IT IS SPONTANEOUS. AM I AN IDIOT? MY INTENTIONS ARE NOT TO SO OF. IT JUST COMES OUT ALL OF A SUDDEN. SOMETIMES I RUN OUT OF WORDS IN NEPALI AND THEN I HAVE TO SPEAK IN ENGLISH. BUT I AM GETTING BETTER AT TALKING PURE NEPALI LATELY. I THINK IT ALL DEPENDS UPON WHERE ARE YOU AT AND WHAT YOU DO. WHEN I USED TO BE OUT OF HOME FOR 16 HOURS IN A DAY (SCHOOL AND WORK) ENGLISH WAS THE LANGUAGE THEN. NOW BEING HOME MORE OFTEN AND ATTENDING NEPALI GROUPS MORE OFTEN HAS MADE ME TALK MORE NEPALI THAN ENGLISH IN NEPALI GROUPS. BUT ENGLISH STILL SLIPS OUT OUT OF NOWHERE SOMETIMES. STILL I CALL MY MOM - MAA AND DAD- BUWA. MOST OF THE SAJHA USERS ARE I THINK ARE NOT IN NEPAL. WHEN THEY SEE NTV ANCHOR BLENDING NEPALI AND ENGLISH TOGETHER, THEY WOULD NOT ACCEPT THAT. BECAUSE PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT IN NEPAL MAY MISS NEPAL AND ITS CULTURE AND THE SEWEETNESS OF NEPALI WORDS MORE THAN THE PEOPLE IN NEPAL. IT IS POSSIBLE FOR THE NEPALI VIEWERS IN NEPAL TO ADJUST IN THAT KIND OF LINGO, WHERE WE THINK IT'S AN INVASON OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE. ANYWAYS NEPALI IS THE SWEETEST LANGUAGE IN THE EARTH. AT LEAST IT IS TO ME! JATI JANYO NEPALI - KAIDA UTI FAIDA. JAI HOS!

Hey guys, forget about nep-eng mixed laguage. As we learn both the languages simultaneously its obvious that we pick words from a combined set of vocabulary of all the languages we speak. One may not be aware but many times people often use hindi words assuming it to be nepali word. This is even bigger shame that you don't from which language u are picking the word. And just for an example, I just heard to PM Koirala at a meeting. He talked like " reactionary force bata sabdhan huna parcha,...... anya country haru ma dekheka chau" adi adi. So forget about using mixed language, unless speech is meant for particular group of people. Astu

Nas, I like the words and the way its sung too, its surprisingly beautiful. When I was a kid, we had to stand in assembly line and sing patriotric songs, reminds me of that. Maybe I don't hate rap after all. Good lord, you just turned me into a liar eh? Where is Che, aren't u going to say "in your face" :):) U know u full well deserve to say that! Randezvous, try saying the same thing without those language, people will actually listen to your advice.

No you don't sound an idiot. I Think it all matter of practice, we need to improve ourself more in our own language npl2us. It is all Matter of Practice. OYE Randezvous, Go FU(K YOUR SELF, DI(K LESS SVIND..... Hindi words are involved in Nepali prakash_ji because both Hindi and Nepali has the same root (Sanskrit). I am not too much into Hip hop but I quite Like some Remix. Practice makes man perfect......

I don't listen to rap and hiphop but well well well this song does bring out the sensitive issues. I have heard Neps talking in English and that simply pisses me off. I don't expect everyone to speak and write flawless english with no grammatical errors but speak only if you're sure whatever you're saying is in a correct form. "Pathetic" is the word I'd use in some cases. I've noticed this a lot, people who do not know how to speak proper english seem to speak english with their so called American accent or British accent. Darn, why do people wanna make fun of themselves? I once visited one of the states and there were some neps who were like, “Demmit this is so cool†with some self made accent!! I later figured out they were trying to sound like Americans but in vain. I went to them and I was like, “tapai haru nepali ho?†and they go like “Ess but we don’t know how to speak nepali so please speak with us in English.†My friend and I interrogated them in English and they go like blank; “kaam ma janu paryo dhilo bhayo gayem la nani, bhetera khusi lagyo†is what they said as they walked off. Don’t get me wrong because I’m not bragging but I know people who speak really good English with a good schooling and they’ve been in the U.S. or the U.K. since a long time and these are the people who never try to sound like Americans or the British people. People who do not know how to speak proper English either do this to overcome the fear of being thrown at a place where everyone speaks English or they do this to simply feel good.
