Can anyone inform if Australian degree valid in Canada and USA? Let’s say if I do a degree in Australia, can I use that degree for job in USA and Canada? I am going for Master in Business - ERP / SAP at Melbourne, Australia and planning to move to Canada or USA for employment. Thinnking of Canadian PR just worried what if my degree is not valid there.

come to the US, here is all the money in the world. and with a SAP certification, you can earn a good share if you are confident. SAP is really big in the US these days. Don't know about canada coz they don't have many big corporations that use SAP.

ya Yo, I am going to Victoria Univeristy. Have you heard of it? kaji sahab, It's not my wish. I am going for this masters under AusAID scholarship so gotta leave Australia for atleast 2 years. Otherwise I would definaltely cwill ntinue in Australia itself. Kaathe_Nepali, It would be great if I can go USA for job. But am not sure how we need to process for it. You have idea how long processing of H1B visa takes? ImI, ya I am from IT. I am a computer engineer. I have American MBA and now going for this masters in ERP-SAP as this seems very hot field these days. I am just confused the way I am moving from one country to another.

lovenepalalways , it's valid there all over the world's degree in Canada, but the thing is that if u wanna study further more with your Aus degree in Canadia, then u have to get evaluation from Canada which you can get here. For the job with your field , it depends on your luck...!!!!for sure u need good experience. good luck

I think your perception of Australia isn't well grounded. Australia's universities (esp. U of Melb, U of Syd, and ANU) are world-class universities. U of Melb business school ranks among top 50 (in general) in the world. I am sure you can do some research to find their standing/reputation among other world-class universities. Check out the offers received by their students: http://www.mbs.edu/go/the-mbs-experience/develop-your-career/employment-outcomes I currently work for a US-based Fortune 500 (a tier 1 consulting company) in Melb and they had no quarrels with my Australian graduate degree (I did my bachelors from the US). I have also gotten to know few Australian friends who've gotten a job offer from other US-based Fortune 500 companies, and have decided to move to the US (for personal reasons). Just like in the US where universities ranked below 50 is not so easy to recognize the university you are going to attend (Victoria University) isn't well known here and probably ranked below par. Your best bet is to apply to one of the universities I mentioned above (it's tough but worthwhile). All the best mate!

- http://www.immigration.ca/ Posted on 01-20-07 8:38 AM Reply | Notify Admin - http://www.immigration.ca/ LAW OFFICES OF COLIN R. SINGER Friend of mine applied Canada Immigration through this person. In the begining everything was perfect. Communication wise, document wise, money wise perfect, but slowly communication starts getting so bad so bad that you hardly will hear from them for a month and months. That is once you pay all the fees. Once they are done with money they are done with you. If you call them and look for the person that you are communicating with.....trust me you hardly will get that person on the phone or you hardly will get respond by email. Always leave a message or that person is not there or on vacation. They have so many reasons to say well well well!!! So guys....do not apply through this guy COLIN R. SINGER if you don't want to get into what my friend is going through. Now he is so frusted that he hardly have any option but to keep calling so that he can make it through!

JAvaBeans, you are right. Those top ranked universities definately have a very good reputation. It's not that I have not thought of them. The only reason I left those is they don't have the subject I have been looking for i.e. ERP/SAP. Victoria Univeristy though on overall prospect is not among top univerisyt in Austraila, is top for this particular course. By the way, r u working in Java, just guessing wittarget=new hrefernceto urs nickname. What company u r looking for. I am sure it will be great to know eachother. :)

ERP is something you can learn on your own or if you're employed get your company to pay for the training. You can also enrol at a local community college (they call it TAFE here) as a vocational education. And SAP (one of many other companies) is the company which implements/integrates ERP concepts into their software tools. My point is that top tier universities will never teach you a specific technology or area, as they tend to tunnel vision your scope. Instead, they teach you more foundational (some theoretical than others) aspects of the program you'd be enrolled in. Take a look at top 5 computer science/engineering graduate programs (with their respective subjets/syllabus) in the US- Berkeley, Stanford, MIT, etc. as an example. You won't find any ERP/SAP related degrees. In contrast, many vocational colleges tend to offer these kinds of courses. And employers know this. They simply won't hire you as a SAP specialist (in Financials, etc) just b/c you've done a course on it- they look for your overall background and industry knowledge. If they see you as someone who possess talent/potential they know they can train you easily in ANY technology. Your circumstances may be different to make sense of what I said above. But, generally speaking IMHO you'd be better off taking a general MSc/Masters degree from a reputed university than a specialized tech-oriented degree from a lower tier one. Your chances of employment are greater in the previous scenario than a latter one. Good luck!

Dear lovenepalalways you can not got to US or Canda after your graduation. That will be the violation of terms and conditions of AUS AID scholarship. Better start thinking of SINGAPORE-INDIA, or some other countries. Good luck

Hey ..LoveNepalAlways..does your name start with A by any chance..Anil?? Agree with Esctasy...you'll be violating the AUSAID terms and conditions..ha ha no wonder Nepal bigreko..I think there are lot of students who come to aus with ausaid and then ...happily migrate ..to other countires...lol aren't scholarship students supposed to go back to their home country and serve the nation for atleast 2 yrs?? i think Thailand is particularly strict about this issue ..one of ma frens was saying you have to pay thrice the scholarship money to the govt if you violate the terms and condition ... Anways ..good luck to LoveNepalAlways!
