I think you guys don't know the true meaning of porn. If you meant my undecent pictures this thread should make sense. But having pictures of models in swimsuit shouldn't be a problem. If you guys have problems with that don't watch the site. Do you think sajha admin. care!! If you don't like go somewhere else no one invited to this site. I wanna see some more pictures like that, if possible why only Oriental's, how about arabic, indian, nepali and african's too. First of all, I think the question should be "Is Ramjham a Porn Site?" - Since the pictures of concern are in ramjham.com and not in sajha.com

Sajha.com is a discussion/events site whereas ramjham.com is the site where users are able to upload photos and share albums. To answer the question, if ramjham.com a porn site, it is not.

Users are asked not to post photos showing any private parts and if any such photos are detected or reported, they are removed asap. As far as suggestive photos go which do not show any private parts, it is difficult to make a hard and fast rules on what is decent and what is not, that is why I stick to the rules of simply no showing private parts.

There are pictures of bikini clad models seen everywhere such as billboards, TV and magazines and some could classify those as porn depending on their definition of appropriate.

With the number of pictures in ramjham.com growing, it is not possible to monitor every photo that gets posted in the albums, but every reported photo gets dealt with asap.

I also noted that there were some postings against me directly claiming that I was making a fortune off the ramjham photos. Currently ramham.com makes from 60 to 75 dollars a month barely even enought to cover the cost of running ramjham.com. It is sad that those who are unable to stand the success of sajha.com stoop low as to include my family members in their jealousy outbreak - specially when ramjham.com is making insignificant money. I think it is hard for some people to digest that not all work or websites are geared towards making money. I guess they will never understand the self satisfaction of  being able to provide a common ground to a large number of Nepalis and try to work towards bringing people together.

what about posting of explicit sex videos in sajha and ramjham. Though it is not porn, still the videos will include people making love, shows nudity of the models/actor/actress that comes to minimum modesty.

then there would be more viewers visitng sajha and ramjham.

There are raunchy  pictures and threads that pop up every now and then that  only serve to trash this site. I agree with your case-by-case approach of  deleting them as needed. I also like the idea of a content editor - perhaps a student volunteer/intern who can work closely with you and help you monitor and organize content.

That said, I am sorry to hear people are dragging your motives and your family into this. Frankly, I think such people don't deserve a reply but need to be shown the door out. For every such person, I feel there are many more who appreciate the work you are doing - that's  my gut feeling. Too bad they don't speak up as much as the trash-talkers.

I am however intrigued and concerned about how vulnerable Sajha is to miscreants because of the nature of the front page. This idea of the last post getting the top slot is a double-edged sword that has little to no safeguards against people who want to create mischief for their own pleasure at the expense of other users on the site. One of the complaints I heard right around the time of CA election results, where unique visitors consistently crossed 10,000 and even hit 18,000 on one day was how several people hesitated to post and join  discussions because they could not bring themselves to posting  because of what was on the rest of the site. I sometimes hesitate to forward links to Sajha pages because I don't want the recipients of my links to click on the home page because I can never tell what might be on it. That is a shame because every now and then there are some good threads that come up on Sajha - like Sirish's gazals, Sum Off's stories or Nepe's analysis to name a few.

One way of managing this would be to have a "landing page" where visitors to Sajha.com land on a simple page and are  given a choice of which Sajha services they want to go to for example Kurakani, Chat, Ramjham, Classified, Blogs etc etc. You could chose to manually feature 5 or 10 threads, pictures, songs, videos, news items etc that you update everyday.  What this buys you is Sajha can become more broad based - you can be a 45 year old dad at work or his 18 year-old daughter in the college lab (and anyone in between those ages) and you don't have to look around you and pray others aren't looking when you type www.sajha.com and start surfing the site.

I admire and respect your work and think you have the best of motives in running this service. That said, content is what will drive the future of the site and sadly we seem to manage that the poorest.

I trust you will take this in the right stride. I realize I can just shut up and discontinue using the site but I chose to  speak up because to not do so  would be a disservice to the fine people I have met on this site and the good times spent with them.

PS: Sajha Sansar does a much better job of content management but doesn't seem to have picked up much adoption  because (I suspect) it has been overshadowed by  Kurakani.  Any thoughts on making that the landing page or promoting it in other ways?

As one of the most active members of Ramjham.com and the one who "inspired" others to follow my path of posting "bikini clad models", I would sincerely request you to reconsider posting of "photos showing any private parts". There is a clear difference between artistic nude photography and nude pornography pictures. I have sometimes posted "decent" artistic nude photos in Ramjham. As you have noted "Nas's World : Sensual Seductions" is the single most highest viewed album.. almost half a million view so far. There is a large demand for artistic sensual nude pictures from the fans of "Nas's World". Nudity is natural but people have made nudity indecent and obscene.

PS: I don't understand why the "private parts" have become the sign of indecency and obscenity when everybody comes out to this beautiful world through that "private parts", when every one enjoys  good physical pleasures using those "private parts". Such a life giving parts of the body but so much hostility towards them. Why?
