I heard that folks work in the extreme heat outside and then come back and sleep in a small room occupied by up to 20 other workers. May be the heat exhaustion during the day and lack of oxygen is the reason for so many deaths.

Most Nepalese are not accustomed to live in those extreme environmental conditions. I heard the death tolls are higher for folks from the hills than ones from Terai. I wish fellow Nepalese brothers didn't have to put their lives at stake to make mere Rs 15,000 per month.

Poor guys, they are subjected to rigorous work more than 10 hrs a day. Only the lucky ones get work in the airconditioned supermarkets. The plight of the outdoor workers is pathetic. The job-related stress, feeling of loneliness from the loved ones back in Nepal and the anxiety of paying back the loan taken to come overseas makes them vulnerable to this kind of tragedies.

THERE MUST BE AN ORIENTATION CLASS FOR THE LABOURERS BEFORE DALAL'S SEND THEM OVERSEAS !

I think Government should sent free health officer to look after such countries where death toll is high to further prevent other Nepalese lives. These officers can provide the status of worker. Similarly, OSHA act should be implemented clearly by the host country.

The number is just heartbreaking; how could so many Nepalese workers die in a month in one country from cardiac arrests and road accidents? It is more deaths than US soldiers losing lives in a war zone in a month.  This trend of Nepalese dieing in Arabs has been going on for ever, but very less, if any, measures have been put into place by Nepal Government to prevent these unwanted deaths. It is really sad that it is costing our Nepalese brothers and sisters their lives in foreign countries who are working hard to meet their family needs in Nepal.
