I will be going to Nepal in couple of month. My visa has expired . Can anybody please share what is the procedure to get visa date in Nepal and how early do I need to apply?

Any suggestion on where to book ticket is also much appreciate.

1. go to Nabil bank in Maharajgunj and fill out forms. you will need ur I-20 copies (assuming you are an F1), and passport infos... and money of course :)

2. take PP size pictures with you.  advice: don take 'em here at walgreens or the like.. cuz... what i got was  "tapainko photo dhamilo ani pahelo chha, yo hunna, naya khichera lyaunush".. and could not convince them

3. i did 1 and 2 the very next day i reached Nepal and i got an interview date, a week from the date of application.

Does anybody know if I need to be physically present in Nepal to  get visa date? I am only going for 2 weeks so worried I will have sufficient time.

2 weeks should be enough........................ YES u have to be physically present............

why don't you send a friend or whoever to go check at Nabil bank and see what dates the applicants are getting ..... shud give you a feel of how many days you might have to wait to get an interview date...
