For last couple of days,Sajha is filled with comments of Sajha Royalist.I was expecting to read some strong arguments and facts from the past(particularly from those period when the country was ruled by seven parties) and inviting heated debate from other sides. But more of the posts seem to be funny,no strong logic to defend why Monarchy should exist in Nepal. One user IMI is trying to bring some logic but more of the Royalists want to have Monarchy coz they believe so(They do not have valid reasons to justify). It is just like anti Royalist wants demolition of Monarchy coz they believe so(No strong logic). "Royalist and Ani Royalist, please produces your statement with strong logic behind it" Why should we demolish Monarchy?(The logic needs to be related with peace and development of Nepal) Why shoould we keep Monarchy?(The logic needs to be related with peace and development of Nepal) Analyse King's speech and predict what happens next? Be logical folks.

We Need to Keep the Crown in Nepal because it is our History. It was the crown that unified Nepal. Nepal is of different cast culture, religion and races. The crown unified all this and kept hold of it for more then 200 years in many way. The Nepali royal palace has always represented Nepal as one and same even though we are different. Like many horses pull one carriage, because they are put together by one lease held by the rider. The same way even though we are different we have always bid together by some invisible thread that had held by the Palace as a binding knot. Yes the Kings days are over, but that does not mean that we should remove them, keep the crown as a museum as it is done in the west. As an identity of our Country’s origin. After all it was them who unified Nepal. India’s royalty was destroyed by British, and now it seems like our royalty is being destroyed by Chinese idealist. We don’t need that. I love history, also therefore I would like to remember in future how our country was originated, by preserving our history with the royal tradition. I am not saying that the King should be one in all. People should have the power and command to Nepal army, but the royalty should be our countries representative. Also for the sake of the country’s future, India respects Nepali Royalty, partly because they lost their own and also that Royal palace represents Hindu king. So India always will be soft on this matter that we have a Hindu Kind, where India itself is a Hindu nation. Therefore they also look up to the Royal palace of Nepal with respect. China, well they don’t really care, weather there is a king or Maoist leader in the top. There are very few monarchy left across the world, and especially in Asia. So why not keep our history as it is. Let the people rule in Nepal, and monarchy stay alive under people’s supervision. Any comments??

Lakhee: Agree with you, and above all....there's no one besides the King who represents the Unity in our History/Culture....No way in hell can we trust our corrupt leaders to Unite our Country....they are already busy promoting separatist viewpoints throughout the Country!

gure, since, they all are responsible for killing of innocent people,Shouldn't all they be punsihed including King? Can we just ignore a king for his deeds stating that he is responsible for less number of killing? Don't get biased,You should have said that all should get punished not only King. Why should Nepali people spare anybody? Why shouldn't they punish all?

Hey h1b, you're the exact type of nepali i am really worried of. you said: "By Suspending Monarchy,if country gets peace, where is the problem?don't you guys want peace in Nepal?" i mean are you for real? yesterday maoists carried guns, tomorrow someone else will (JTMM is already doing the same). since the seed of gun politics has already been planted, up to what price are we willing to pay for peace? sure we are all peace loving people and take pride in buddha's preaching and his birth place. but what kind of example are we setting by giving in to every demand raised with gun power? and please don't give me example of past armed revolutions. times have changed so what happened in the history do not work anymore. not in this day and age. back in the days, men used to wrestle till death to get a woman...is that were we headed?

hukka_nepali ,please don't get worried on my type,Stay focussed on your investment dollar. I am not favouring any kind of killings and suppression. And if you read my posting carefully, you would know that I am neither supporter of Monarchy nor a Terrorist(Maoist),I believe in democracy and in democratic system nobody is beyond the law.King's wrong doing can not be justified pointing others mistakes.Every Nepalese know and aware of what kinds of leader they have(I already stated that in different threads). My only question to royalist is: Justify why would you want existance of Monarchy? Since,Nepalese people want peace and development, tell us how would we achieve peace and democracy by keeping Monarchy? And I have asked same question for Anti Royalist: Why do you want to demolish Monarchy? What happens next ? Who will lead Nepal? Hukka Ji,Produce logic just do not come with conclusion. And I understand your anger since the country is not being ruled by law,it has been just lawless and we all are worried for it..but still it can not be justification for keeping King. Come with some strong reason why should we keep King?

Hello h1b jee, glad you make note of my investment dollars but sadly enough the US stock market is closed today. so im able to chime in my our political issue, if i may... i appreicate your need for logic but as someone already stated above, nepal currently does not function by any logic but rather its a monkey business going on over there. don't mean to pick on you but there isn't much logic in your question itself. and that is why i said i worried about nepali people like you, who are simple living folks just want to go about their business and therefore just want to see peace prevail (regardless of the price that is being paid or the compromises being made about future without their immediate far sided knowledge, obviously not their fault either). it is not the matter of keeping king but it is about keeping the institution of monarchy to play an integral part of balanced power in an ethnically and geographhically diverse nation like ours. i beleive this is somewhere along the line of thought process behind B.P. Koirala's (one of very few visionary leader) 2007 B.S. "Rastriya Mel Milap Niti (??something like that)". it is my opinion that if we get rid of the institution of monarchy, it will pave the way for military rule or some sort of dictator ruling in an unstable political environment for a long time. fine examples of these can be found in russia, iran, and many other african nations. also, you can find similar examples in nations like pakistan and bangladesh where due to lack of balance in power and weakness in political parties, it oftens paves the way for military intervention.

oh yes: P.S. military intervention might not be as bad compare to what happened to sikkim. considering our open border, unrest situation in nepal will have direct effect to indian interest, thus paving the way for their direct intervention. that will be the most unfortunate outcome of all...but often during monekey business, as easily seen at pashupatinath, while the monkey are busy fighting with each other over food, dogs or birds often sneak in to take advantage. so it is not just india but a very NATURAL phenomenon
