For last couple of days,Sajha is filled with comments of Sajha Royalist.I was expecting to read some strong arguments and facts from the past(particularly from those period when the country was ruled by seven parties) and inviting heated debate from other sides. But more of the posts seem to be funny,no strong logic to defend why Monarchy should exist in Nepal. One user IMI is trying to bring some logic but more of the Royalists want to have Monarchy coz they believe so(They do not have valid reasons to justify). It is just like anti Royalist wants demolition of Monarchy coz they believe so(No strong logic). "Royalist and Ani Royalist, please produces your statement with strong logic behind it" Why should we demolish Monarchy?(The logic needs to be related with peace and development of Nepal) Why shoould we keep Monarchy?(The logic needs to be related with peace and development of Nepal) Analyse King's speech and predict what happens next? Be logical folks.

it is not the matter of keeping king but it is about keeping the institution of monarchy to play an integral part of balanced power in an ethnically and geographhically diverse nation like ours. i beleive this is somewhere along the line of thought process behind B.P. Koirala's (one of very few visionary leader) 2007 B.S. "Rastriya Mel Milap Niti (??something like that)". Hukka,You made valid point here. That's the logic I was anticipating from Sajha Royalist.Any way,I got it from democrats. I started this thread to invite logical discussion rather than Royalist saying we want Monarchy coz we believe this and coming with data of killing by other sides and Anti Royalist comes and give a tag of MANDALE whoever thinks the need of Monarchy and argue as if there were Ram Rajya while Seven Party were ruling. Each of us need to be realistic. And commoc consensus is we want peace and development. Thanks Hukka for your second attempt with some sorts of logic.

I agree with lot of you guys and even those who are against the monarchy, and have doubt on their head about Monarchy. But let me clarify to you this that Monarchy of Nepal does not only mean Gyanadra, it means our great king Prithvinarayan shah, (The main reason that we can call our self Nepali, even after my race and my best friends race is different), Tribhuvan who first introduced democracy in Nepal. Mahendra who is the reason behind that we all speak the same language, Birendra who restored democracy in again and was loved by the people. They are all our kings who has changed our country in many ways. Yes Gynendra is selfish, and thought that he could still have direct rule over Nepal, and wanted to create his own image in history, but the luck was not with him, and the days of kings had ended. That Birendra had understood and was ready to talk to Maoist, but Gynendra was stupid enough to kill his brother and wanted to apply the marshal law that the palace was able to use according to the old constitution, and now he is paying the price. But why punish what our other kings had build up for good. I learned in school back in Nepal that if there is a rotten apple in a pile, then you don’t throw the pile away, you throw the rotten apple away. This exactly what people of Nepal are doing, they are trying to throw the whole pile away. Now that people has the power sort out the rotten apples from the palace and bring them to justice, and Crown the little girl (Sruti’s daughter) Our parents created us, and now after you have grown up and can stand on your own two legs does not mean that you through your parents out, you respect them. You may not listin to them any more, or perhaps obey them either. BUT YOU RESPECT THEM. Gynendra and his descendent are unpopular, and Maosist are using that to get rid of the Royal palace, as they did form the begning. And Now is the biggest chance for them, and Prachandas dream on becoming head of the state (NEW KING OF NEPAL IN HIS OWN WAY) is coming to reality, so he is using these illiterate, and ignorant youth of Nepal as oil in the fire. If that innocent little child of 5 years is crowned and Gynendra is dismissed from the thrown, No Nepali will point their finger towards the Thrown of Nepal. And for what reason any way, why blame a little kid who has lost every thing because of her uncle. Bringing the justice and the guilty party in front of the court will shut people’s mouth up and if prachanda protests, then people will have doubt on his character, on why is he fighting with a 5 year old girl, who has lost every thing. Comments Please….

No problem at all h1b. we can lable each other by different names or categorize ourselves with in any particular school of thoughts, but can't forget the fact that we all want the best of our motherland at the end of the day. that is why i have come to peace of mind even if my ideas or my thought process isn't materialized. infact, i look at is like if your plans go forward and mine didn't, i consider yours was better to being with so if anything you will only recieve my support in our nation building process. but the paapi maan deep down inside me just hopes and ohhhh prays so much that, those which such great ideas and visions (greater than the ones i had anyways) are truly dedicated to our motherland and aren't compromised in any way shape or form....but i guess it's only human for me to have this doubt, hoina ta. anyways...oh yeah last but not the least it was KnightCrawler to bring mokey business in paly...funny choice of words but couldn't have described it more precisely myself...so props to you bro! LOL

ll i am trying to say is instead of revenge game ...be productive and think for nation ..why we need more blood. In process of kicking king out many people will die for nothing.Just to replace with another dictator name:Prachanda. King won't go so easily ,If the king goes there will be more blood shed and ultimately it will be Maoist. That for sure!!!If you are neutral person .Then forgive and forget and move on ..Make new nepal ..once again the responsibility has come to political parties ..prove to nepal that They are capable ..otherwise they do not diserve to rule Nepal...Let the king be ceremonial , pay tax, nationalize the property and make him figure head. Why so excited bringing communist in Nepal???

An example of how statistics can be made to tell lies. --------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Prachand kills 15000.00 People 2. Girija More then 6000.00 3 Ser bahadur 5000.00 4. Madhav k. nepal ( Equally participate in those killing) 5 . King 29 king 29 WTF! ----------------------- Well they say about 15,000 thousand people were killed during the decade long Maoist insurgency. The figure 15,000 include casualties (deaths) from both the army (who was under the direct control of the monarch even after the 1990 democracy) and the Maoist personnel. Well if you want to be petty, then then Army killed more people (Maoists as well as innocents) than the Maoists (Army personnel as well as innocents). So the figure that the king killed becomes actually more than that of the Maoists. Not counting the people killed by Paras or the past kings, of course! :-) So let us not be petty ... and distort the facts. And if we cannot state the facts, let us admit that fact and interpret the figures accordingly. ==================================================

One question always comes in my mind is: Paras is probabaly as old as I am. He has done nothing for the country. I have served for the country . How he gets a chace to be the King but me? Its just a blood or what? Is it fair? Is it natural?
