I am not sure if it's everyone in general but I have found most Nepalis to be very indecisive. Like for example you go to a restaurant with a bunch of people then everyone is asking everyone else what they are ordering instead of ordering whatever the hell they want to eat. Then when the waiter is getting tired of waiting around they say "जे order गर्देनि हुन्छ "
You go to a bar with bunch of Nepalis then they say whatever is fine or I'll have whatever you're having.
जे भएनी हुन्छ  is like their answer to everything.

Maybe when we're growing up, we're not allowed to follow our passions willfully and interventioned quite frequently. The teachers, parents, and all our relatives, have a say about what we should be doing, often offering conflicting views. This makes us confused to some extent. For many, this perpetuates into our adulthood. The same reason, we're not great risk takers or pursue unique courses in college even if we're interested in them. The peer pressure, family pressure, AND THE FEAR OF FAILING all add to the mix. For americans, it is ok to fail and not make the right choice the very first time. I think it is a huge difference in our cultures. To each their own

Snurp good thinking there. Another reason maybe their need to feel accepted. Or maybe scared to try something new like you said. I think because of this indecisiveness they end up doing everything in the last minute because they don't have the luxury of postponing their decisions.

 Interesting post.  I agree with both snurp and rethink.  What I have learned so far is that CONFIDENCE is very important in life.  Indecisive = lack of confidence.  I was indecisive before as well.  I am changing myself slowly and steadily.  In my opinion, there is nothing called right decision or wrong decision.  You make a decision, and you should be willing to take consequences.  Another thing: Follow your heart.  Don't get bothered by noises.  Phalna la yesto bhancha..usto bhanchha... all bull crap.

We, Nepalese, spend a lot of time making sure that a decision is right or wrong.  That makes us undecisive. 

" जे खाए पनि हुन्छ " : is something you say when you visit  " ससुराली "
Next time, make up your mind quickly and get the ball rolling.

it is specially a case with guys I believe.. Most if them I know would say "je khaye ni huncha" , "je garda ni huncha " , " ja Gaye ni huncha" :) and it makes it tough for girls to take lead after that ...

But does not apply to everyone

I know why back in Nepal we don't have too much choice and lot of money also and its kinda monotonous like eating same kind of momo less choice in video game less choice in ice cream milk many thing alcohol video game beer etc etc list goes on but overhere too many choices too much money plus too many new things like mMcDonald subway swarm a Mazda car cycle too much preference which we are unaware of plus cultural shock so we just eat whatever drink whatever ride whatever car but it will change gradually after people get used to it my few cent
