I was looking at this post about Nepali girls being raped and shockingly everyone is blaming them! Wow it is sad that it shows the general consensus and mentality of the Nepali men at large.

that is the sad state of the collective consciousness of Nepal. That is why Nepal has a big problem with women/girls trafficing. I don't mean other countries don't have such problems. It is sad regardless of where.
People respect their mother and sisters, but they become so selfish and callous towards other women who can be someone's mother, daughter or sister.
and that is the tragedy, samsara feeds on itself.

That's why I always said it was never about politician. The majority of nepalese population's mentality is so fked up and sick. Politicians are just a reflection of who they are and yet they keep on blaming politics and politician. Above facebook comments are not new to me. I have seen it in many threads and even youtube comments. They do not have any sense of responsibility as a human being. Until you change people's mentality just forget about building a new Nepal. I may seem pessimistic but I do not see any bright light in the dark tunnel .

Nepali people risk their life to cross border illegally, our actor/actresses wait tables and our professor /teachers work in gas stations. It's not because these people lack money 37 k US dollars is not accessible to the poor people. It's because they think they 'll come to US , file fake asylum and one day go to Nepal and act like rich Americans. The number of illegal border crossing has drastically increased after 2007, since Nepali people figured how to file asylum. There is no maoist insurgency, no victim anymore. There was but not anymore. Not after 2007/2008. But since these thieves have figured out how to contact those crooked lawyers and para-legals in big cities such as NY or San Francisco to file fake asylum they first try to get visa and if nothing works they try to come illegally. there was even a thread on sajha from someone who was advertising fake asylum. After so many people complained and some even reported to the DHS the guy stopped posting,it was helpnepalforever if i remember correctly. This is a classic example of chokta khana gayake budi johl ma dubayra moree...Although i sympathize the girl and others who was in such terrible position, the blame solely goes to themselves and the fake asylum filing gangs.
As a community we need to stick together and report the fake asylum processors, so people like these won't be lured and trapped in such situations. Then only we can stop these kind of horrible things in the world. elp them for money and also need to repor
These people need to understand that asylum is the most humane thing that US offers and we should be very thankful for that generosity. It is only meant for real victim who face prosecution and not for people who want to economically benefit by living in the US , mostly because they want to show off to their people back home.

It's a sad story, once people made their mind they do not think of any consequences. And those middleman will be feeding wrong information but not alerting such things had happen ed and you may be next but they don't. Once the money is in hand they do not care whether they die or raped.

I've noticed such insensitivity is more commonly expressed against minorities and especially women. These people always blame the victims and find excuses to justify it as the punishment. You don't need to go far; look at two of the active threads today:
