hi all,
I lent $10k to someone and did notarize a document at the bank with his passport and signature. The notarized document will expire in a year, now it feels he is reluctant to give any money as promised monthly payment. What actions should I take, Will I even get any money even if I sue him or try to settle in small court? Can he just walk away without paying?
I know it's my fault to trust based on his behavior.
I appreciate any suggestions.

If he is nepali then think your money is history, if he aint nepali the chances are 50 % if you drag him to the court .

Thats why I do no give money to anybody more that $2000

I recommend talking to a lawyer or some employee in the district court in your area. As this might be considered a civil dispute case right? where the said contract is not honored. I am not completely sure, but you can go to the court and find out yourself. Usually they have advisors there in the court who can give you free advice and suggestions on how to move forth in these kind of cases.
