Results of DV or EDV to United States of America is out and as ever, hundreds of aspiring migrants to US are trying to locate their dazzling fate in the list. US, UK or Australia, magnetism to move about and settle in these countries is increasing quick and fast. This is not a story of Nepal alone, its same with any ýthird world countryý. ýForeign basedý has become an ultimate statement, which people want in their credentials today.

There is nothing wrong in travelling to new destinations, visiting diverse land as long as it is to broaden ones horizon, expand ones vision or for the sear pleasure of tourism. However, one needs to seriously doubt ones social system if turning immigrant becomes the sole objective of a person---a group---a nation.
Yes, we all do seek greener pastures, vast opportunities and bright future, But, who can guarantee that migrants are the one with the brightest of future?
Each year 1000s of Nepalese leave this country and turn immigrants. Are we sure that there are equal number of Nepalese worldwide who have achieved the aspired bright future? How many of them have been able to attain that desired exclusive life? How many of them are lost and wandering in oblivious? If leaving ones country for a developed nation was a path to prosperity and development, we Nepalese would have been one of the prosperous and flourishing lot in this world.
The biggest misconception people have (educated/illiterate, rural/urban) is, the permission to enter a foreign land is the eventual and decisive door to happy life there after. Alas! Even the so credible DV doesnýt easy and successful migration. The final approval involves various levels of correspondence, interviews and at times never ending wait.
There are many people who have received the initial confirmation and are still waiting for the further correspondence. In the process they have deserted all their work and activities in Nepal, sold their hard earned belongings and built a dream, which still is fat-fetched.
Blame it on politics, society or the entire nation, but somewhere down the lane we all are culprit for attaining, accepting or approving this system.
Well, the results of 2005 DV is already out, so all you failed onesý Want to try for next year? What say!!!
