I don't think we should concentrate on the crisis. The concentration should be on what improvements we want. From there we then work out a plan on how to achieve whatever goals and objectives are made. Then we work on solutions for the obstacles that will stand in the way of our goals and objectives. Some areas of concern that I have. Primary Education Sanitation Nepali brain drain

Dalli writes: " I don't think we should concentrate on the crisis" Do you think you can impart primary education and implement development projects in rural Nepal with maoists and RNA holding guns in their hands?

Of course not. You cannot implement anything in the rural areas of Nepal at this time. You would not be able to implement a plan that covered all of Nepal at one time. However, a plan for education would reveal the issue of stability and security needed for the rural areas. That being said I am one who advocates a strong capital city. From there we could then choose other cities that we could provide stability and security so that things like primary education can take hold. At least that is one way to do or we could workout a plan with the Maoist so that schools are no longer disrupted. They may have valuable ideas to contribute to a nationwide curriculum. Who knows if no one has ever asked them? I'm also for taking the soveirgnty of the King out of education. How does hailing to the King contribute to education? We should be singing songs about Nepal and not the royal family. When the Maoists kidnap our precious children what are they re-educating them about?

The purpose of the thread as in my opinion is to come up with the plan that could take Nepal out of the present turmoil and not to devise some 10 years long development project.

Do you think the problems that Nepal faces can be dreamed away with a good night's sleep? A proper solution to our problems will take time to plan and will take time to implement. The present turmoil cannot be overcome with good intentions. We need honest debate and courage to hear the truth.

Masterplan here you go: 1. oust gyane (hahahah) 2. punish corrupt leaders (hehehehehe) 3. bring maoist to main stream politics (khititikhititi) 4. implement a decentralized government ( everyone wants to stay in kathmandu and only goes to their districts/zones during elections this central govt. should be discarded) 5. go back to nepal, staying in america and planning the "masterplan" won't help

1. oust gyane (hahahah)-- Won't happen without a severe hit to Nepal's stability, because there are is no one charismatic and popular enough to step in and bring calm to the situation. 2. punish corrupt leaders (hehehehehe)-- Where is the evidence? A fair and just court system is the basis of all successful republics. 3. bring maoist to main stream politics (khititikhititi)-- Invite them to the mainstream but their actions are illegal when they kidnap citizens for re-education or murder policemen. 4. implement a decentralized government ( everyone wants to stay in kathmandu and only goes to their districts/zones during elections this central govt. should be discarded)-- The best suggestion here! You should not be allowed to represent a district or zone you do not live in 51% of the year. 5. go back to nepal, staying in america and planning the "masterplan" won't help-- Planning the masterplan will help otherwise no one knows what is going on.
